does anyone know of any online stores to buy home audio speakers and recievers? if so, have you bought from these stores and was the price and service good? so far, i'm thinking of buying from crutchfield because bestbuy.com charges sales tax (bastards).
i'm looking for a kenwood 6.1 ch ready reciever, bose surrounds and a bose center channel.

Crutchfield is a great company. I've bought thousands of dollars worth of car and home a/v gear from them. If you have any kind of problem with setup or anything, you can give them a call for as long as you own the stuff. I thought I knew a lot about car and home a/v... these people are nuts...
Prices are reasonable and delivery is quick. Plus returns are easy if necessary. Plus they have a caliber of product that just isn't available at Best Buy. Sorry if I sound like I work for them... but everything I said is the truth. <img src="http://www.zilvia.net/f/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/cool.gif" border="0" valign="absmiddle" alt=''>

Yikes, stay away from Bose. While not a bad product, they charge about 3 times what I would consider their products to be worth. If you spend any time looking up audio information you will find that they are the only (well the only one I've found so far) company that does not publish any technical specs for their speakers and rather fill the pages with marketing hype about how great they are and how cool the accoustimass system was 15yrs ago when it came out. For $1000+, I don't want paper drivers and foam surrounds.
My advice is go to some higher end shops in town if you plan to drop that much money. From personal experience, my recomendation for affordable hometheater is a canadian speaker company called Paradigm (I also like NHT, B&W, Mission, and Tannoy). Also, www.audioreview.com is a good place to find reviews of equipment you're thinking about and most people include the purchase price and where they got it from. Not sure if they still have them, but I got some really good deals on mission speakers from ubid two years ago.
