clutch smoking?????
Umm idk where to start me and my buddy replaced his clutch on his 93 s13 and got it done in a couple of hours it isnt the first one i have done but its the first time i have seen a clutch actually smoke from the trans. He bought a cheap ass f1 clutch kit from ebay and he used the throwout bearing that came with it and it was bigger than the oem would that be the problem the throwout bearing??? Im kinda new to this shit so help me out thanks.

a slipping clutch burning smell is quite abit different than a throw out bearing grease burning smell.... can you tell the difference? my guess is if the clutch is holding then the bearing is to blame, sometimes if you got lube on the flywheel or clutch it can take a while to burn it off... I have had a starion with simular issue, come to find out the cylinder head was leaking oil under boost and would drip directly on the bellhousing and get to the clutch... make sure your motor is not a pig. Good Luck

it slips but dont smoke anymore someone told me that there is shipping wax/grease on the pressureplate and you have to clean it off with break cleaner same way with a resurfaced flywheel could that cause it to slip??? and the throwout bearing is noisey we used the one with the kit do you pefer the oem than aftermarket?
