Remote Power FC Troubleshooting?
I thought I would post this here in case anyone knows. I am having issues with starting my car with the Power FC on a redtop SR20det.
My problem: The car starts fine with the factory ECU. However, it runs like crap. On a cold start, where the car has not been started for a few hours, it will not start directly with the Power FC. I have to first start it with the stock ECU and then swap ECUs and it starts with the Power FC. From there it runs fine. It has been dyno tuned; however, we could not troubleshoot the start issue at that time, as it had already been started with the factory ECU to get it off the trailer. Once it is started with the Power FC after having run with the stock ECU, it will continue to start without issue unless left shut off for a few hours. The closest place to tune is about 4.5 hours away. Question: Is there anyone certified for tuning a Power FC on here that could help troubleshoot this remotely to figure out why it only starts with the Power FC after having first been started and run with the stock ECU? |

Is this a used Power FC? If so, did you reset it before using?
Did you do the idle learn on initial start-up?

There was still an initial start done. I let it run with the factory ecu. Then it had to be turned off. I swapped ecus and then started the car with the pfc for the initial start learning period. Unless it has to be started when cold for the initial startup, which in that case it would not start to complete.

That's what I would assume to be required when running the initial start up, is the engine to be cold. Maybe Steve Shadows will see this thread as he remote tunes PFC setups. Or used to.
