You know what I've always wondered about that movie? If the eagles could fly in there and pick them up, why didn't the eagles fly them in there to destroy the ring? It would have taking three books and 16 hours of movie down to about six pages and a commercial length story.

Oh Shane how silly of you. Everyone knows Sauron's eye would have laser beamed the eagles out of the sky if they got close.

Then why didn't it laser everyone at the gates when they distracted him?? I never saw this lasering effect. Plus eagles could have flown high, and then in a dive out of the sun came in fast and it would have been over before they were seen.

I drove my stockish (but frequently abused) 200k+ mile KA S13 1500ish miles from Riverside, CA, to East Texas. I only made a few quick stops for snacks, gas, and piss breaks. It took about 25 hours. The car did fine, save for some weird bogging while going through some elevation changes through Lincoln National Forest in New Mexico (12-13 hours in). After that, it was smooth sailing.

So to answer your original question... Yes, yes I would.

drove 5500 km from BC to Hamilton Ontario, I took the cool route. Also some streeting and extreme elevation included. Car had 320xxxkm original on it, beat the hell out of it and it was great. Car had been parked for a year then driven for 2 days then across canada.

Surprised no one has posted this:

http://forums.nicoclub.com/8-700-mil....html#p5737295

And I have only gone as far as Vancouver BC in my 240. About 650 miles round trip.

Thanks WHITECAR thats one heck of a road trip.....9400 miles wow.....

I am pretty sure I will be ok.....I mapped out the gas stations along the way. I should be able to get there in 4 stops....I think I get about 27miles to the gallon.....I probably can get better but I am heavy footed.

I plan on buying 2 tires for the rear....my pegleg wore out the left tire because of the slippery canyon i drive to go to work everyday....I will install the new VLSD on friday.

I will probably start another road trip thread??

Are there any SAN ANTONIO area zylvia members on here?? If so PM me??

Drove mine down to Tennessee for IA from Michigan last summer. Took it across the state into the mountains and then back home in 90+ degree temps. Ended up being about 1700 miles round trip- thankfully I got home without any issues. Fifth gear blew out about a week later though, lol.

I daily mine about 70 miles per day to and from work during the summer months. For the most part it is usually pretty reliable. Good luck with the trip!

Drove to and from San Diego and Humboldt ~1500 mi round trip with my old s13 with a red top no problems, same car with the KA i drove to Santa Cruz from San Diego 900 mi round trip several times no problems. With my new SR powered S13 I've driven from Humboldt to Santa cruz 700 mi round trip 3 times thus far with no problems...
Its been my experience that a car takes more of a beating in stop and go city driving than it does cruising at 70 over a long distance. If you are at all worried just cruise and you'll be just fine

I have had this 240 for 3yrs and that is the most I have driven.

Specs; 1993 coupe convertEd 5 speed KADE 188k miles

Mods/repairs:
felpro head gasket / resurfaced head / ARP head studs
One injector replaced and all new injector seals installed
New alternator / starter/ water pump / optima red top
New plugs / wires / cap and rotor
New brembo rotors with ceramic pads
VLSD (180sx)

The bad:
Small oil leak from rear main seal. (I will try to fix before I go)
Power steering leaking from steering rack
Right rear wheel has a small bend so I get a lil vibration

So give me your opinion? Would you drive your 19yr old 240sx 1200 miles?

Fyi my wife says I'm crazy.
I drove mine 1000+ miles when I moved. I had everything I owned stuffed in there too. Guitars, amplifiers, guitar cases, gaming pcs, computer hardware and peripherals, clothes, tools, misc shit, etc.

The car had 200,000+ miles with valve ticking and timing chain slap. Didn't have a single problem. Just keep the damn thing maintained.

I drove my fastback from the Bay Area to Fresno then to Las Vegas and to San Diego. I have over 300K on original motor. Still runs like a champ, not as great when I first purchase it.

AEM EMS Brewed E-tune
Full Race manifold/DP
Injector dynamics
Buddy club racespec coils (8k front 6k rear) not bad coils for a long trip!
