So I have been looking around for a while and found what I think is a decent deal on a 240sx. I live in Tennessee so 240's are pretty rare here and most of the ones on sale are around $4k. I found someone selling a 89 240 for $2.3k.

From the description, he says it runs good but the fender has a dent, rear brake caliper is locked up, and it leaks power steering fluid. The car has 185k miles on it. So what should I look for when buying it? I have been talking to the owner and he says he turned into a pole and that's how he got the dent.

Should I take it to a shop to get it inspected? What should I look out for, and how much do you guys think I should pay for this car?
