ka tranny and vg30e na tranny hybrid
ok so i have an 88 300zx non turbo 5 speed. the tranny is all messed up.
1) wont go into 5th(syncro?) 2) terrible screaching noises 3) hard to get into gears 4) reverse is harsh and wont disengage sometimes (syncro?) 5) sometimes hear a grinding noise when accelerating too quickly 6) makes screaching noise when idleling but when clutch is pushed in it goes away( throw out bearing) anyways the tranny code is fs5w71c which is the same for ka and sr. my friend is giving me his ka tranny which is in good condition. the internals are said to be the same except for the bellhousings. is this a hard task to do? will it work? are the tranny mounting points the same? does anyone have first hand experience with this? anything else i should check while im doing this? i posted on different sites but i trust this site the most. thanks in advance. sorry for all the ques but its my daily car so i need to get this done asap.
