So I'm trying to figure out my drift rims for the summer. Here is a picture of my car last year. it is higher and on time attack rims there. It will be much lower with a kit this spring.



I have a set of 6 Advans which I was going to run this year: (fronts are 17x8, rears and 17x9.5, and spares are 17x9). I was going to run 40 series rubber on them so the car sits low.



For color, I was going to powder coat them neon yellow. As far as I know they would be the only neon set out there. I was going to go for this color:



Another idea is rock the same rims but go with the more classic Super Advan color scheme. The polished lip and center, with colored spokes. This color scheme might be hard as the the rims are slightly different if you notice in the second picture. Along these lines:



Or maybe I should just toss this idea of being unique and get some dime a dozen varstoens...

Three choices:

1) Rock the Advans in Full Neon yellow on 40 series.

2) Rock the Advans with the more classic paint/powder scheme

3) give up on the Advans and get a set of Varstoens in 18.

All three of these options cost the same from here on out. Powder on the Advans, 1000+. That is the same price as a set of Varstoens. And how the crap do I add a poll into this thread?!?

stupid thread is stupid. It's all going to be based on your opinion in the end you want a bunch of people on the internet to make a simple "fashion" decision for you? Well I'll give you my opinion, the neon color-scheme is retarded and for drift-boy ricers, go for the classic color-scheme as it looks nice and simple and not too flashy. Sorry I don't usually bash but this is a dumb question to ask if you are into cars, you can easily make that decision yourself. Plus these are drift wheels, does it really matter?

Give me those 2 on the front left and let me worry about paint, I will just keep them white and us them as my drift spares. I will even take them off you hands free of charge.

Of course you should run the advans. I'm not saying this just because I have super advans on my DD.

Go for option #2.

And wtf does color of the rims have to do with the fact they are drift? spares? paint them yellow and you will drift better

Since your asking for advice on your car. My advice to you is this. Stop trying to be original, be like everyone else. get huge unfunctional 20 inch chrome rims. slam your car to the ground to the point where your subframe scraps and add a roof rack, add rust to fenders and dent a few panels... then get a sticker that says "i love haters" that way youll fit in with the rest.

OP needs to make up his own mind on what he wants. Everyone wants something different. I would SUGGEST that the OP does not run wheels that he actually cares about for drift events. It would be pretty lame if he knocked a k-rail and broke one of his "sweet" neon yellow advans on the first run.
