put my blocker bolt in the spare oil feed from the twins

after bolting the manifold and turbo on for a final time, annoyingly the exhaust now just brushes the steering rack input shaft, it was all on finger tight, so the mm's of clearance i had before, was taken up

it's literarly just brushing it however i'd rather be safe than sorry, any adjustment on the top would make the manifold hit the downpipe so i got 'creative'.....or rough, whatever you want to call it
heated the pipe untill it was cherry red, then had it flat in the vice against a block of wood on the back and used a big socket to press the pipe in slightly around where the rack would touch

works perfectly, i now have a good bit more clearance, this won't make much difference either to be honest as it's just a slight dent
i know it's hard to see in this pic but the clearance is there....

put in a new water temp sensor, used the original copper washer and a bit of intant gasket sealant

also made a start to my oil drain for the turbo, bought a flange from ebay and a 22mm drill bit, bored it out and put my 22mm pipe inside,
i'll have a tig welder seal this up and then the pipe can be chopped and welded into position to meet the sump, i plan on using the oem oil return into the sump since it's 22mm also and can easily be matched since i have spare 22mm silicone hose

made a start at cleaning up the spare rocker covers in prep for stevie to paint them

removed the baffle plates and cleaned up the inside with engine gunk remover and alot of brake cleaner

resealed the baffle plates and put loctight on the little screws that hold it on as the last thing i want is them falling into the engine
oil feedd pipe fitted with heat/fire sleeve

fittings thread taped into the turbosmart gate

fitted

however it'll be coming back off as i've decided i want the screamer to face the floor, just for safety
had some spare time one morning at work waiting on parts to arrive for a job so i cleaned up the brake pads, cleaned the surfaces of them and greased the caliper contacts so the pads stay free

put up an advert on a local car facebook page for aberdeen asking if anyone would do some tig welding, found a local guy named paul jamieson for anyone who's wondering, got him to do some tig work for me
90 degree onto my turbo

also using my spare pipework we managed to get the intercooler pipes sorted for the new turbo

i now have only 4 silicone hoses on the car for the i/c as every other join has been welded, he welded the intake manifold i/c pipework side too
also got him to knock up some oil drain flanges since the stuff i had from ebay was basically cheap rubbish

these are really thick and will not warp or cause any troubles down the line
ran out of time for welding the oil drain so that'll be done next week
i also thread taped up the fpr that's going in soon and also done my oil temp sensor and blank plugs on the sandwich plate

then fitted to the car along with some fresh oil

also extended the loom for the lambda, downpipe then was bolted on for the final time, along with the chavvy air filter (k&n soon!), i/c pipe on, heat blanket on, breather pipe on and heat sleeved,
an ALMOST finished picture of the bay.....it's a very busy place with not much room but alot of stuff....

so now i'm waiting for tuesday night to get the last bit of tig welding done on the oil drain
---------------------------------------------------------------------

i chopped up some spare pipe i had which was bought for the screamer anyway, cut the end off at an angle with a grinder and it looks safe enough to me

paul came round and began welding on the oil drain for the hx35, i've retained a 22mm pipe as i wanted to match the size of the sump and also the holset has a 19mm drain so regardless i'll still be safe enough without any oil drain issues

tig welder was on the lowest setting as the pipe was very thin

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ipMW...2bK4jNSccYGorA

finished the top it has a 22mm i/d silicone pipe with heat wrap for allowing a little flex

this goes into a the the same again at the bottom, 22mm pipe into a flange bolted onto the sump return fitting
then the screamer was done and heat wrapped

and came the first attempt to start the car with the new turbo swap......
didn't work! wouldn't start.....
ecu was giving power to coils and injectors but wouldn't fire them
turned out to be a battery live missing to the ecu however i hadn't touched any of that,
ran a temp power wire to the ecu relay and BOOM!

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=OXpZ8Z1RIxM
so after a long evening with mark (many thanks!) and dan smith on the phone, we worked out that when i'd cut out the aircon relay and hicas relay, i'd actually chopped out the main power to the fuse box relays
they are split in the fusebox and all get feeds looped from one another, so with me breaking the feed, none of them worked, a bit ridiculous tbh as i didn't see all the relays looped together...

so that also solved my issue with the fog lamps and indicators not working too

however by this time i'd removed the dash back out the car and the fuse box loom

so after a few late nights messing with the car, i tidied up the loom one saturday morning and made it a good bit neater, ran power to hid's and fans etc

on the plus side, my aem wideband arrived

just a few more jobs, test greddy emanage, fit injector rail with new injectors once fittings welded on, new gauge pod for holding them on dash, fit new fpr and fuel filter
and a few other bits like tidy up main kill switch etc

bought a tripple pod gauge holder on ebay, pretty much the same as a subaru and threw in the aem, water temp and oil temp gauges and my led flasher to tell me when the revotec turns the fan on

just need to fit the boost controller to finish the dash, does anyone know what bulbs fit the climate control pannel? i'm trying to find some blue ones to match the stereo/gauges etc

then had paul weld on the wideband exhaust fitting and rewrapped that part

also one major thanks to pete at fabricage again, he is awesome! customer service like i've never had before, called up and said hey i bought a cage from you last year that was sent up to scotland, instantly said oh yeh is that jonny from aberdeeen was hard to believe!
anyway thanks again pete! i had some standard seat belt mounts sent up and while paul was here, i had him weld them into the cage so i can run standard seatbelts too now rather than just harnesses
just need to clean it up and repaint the area, it'll be covered with cage padding anyway so i'm not that worried

had a new bride passenger low mount rail arrive, unfortunately it's missing the recaro fitment adapters so i've ordered them from nengun

and to tackle the non matching interior, i've managed to find and buy a very rare plain black set of recaro SR seats
I sold my pair of red integra recaros and bought a set of evo 4 recaros....however I seen these come up for sale the next day and had to have them! they are so clean! a small tear on the back of one and a fag burn that's it! so the evo 4 recaros were sold on and my r33 skyline calipers that were on my car previously which has gave me enough money to get these!

i've ordered a new bride super low recaro fitment driver side seat rail from jdm distro and it should be here in a few weeks from japan so i'll be able to get both seats fitted
then the fun bit starts.....
injector resistor

and the manifold work....

first part of the manifold removed, including the plastic loom trunk which is massive and in the way!

the autobox loom, diagnostic plug, soarer fuse box connectors and some other plugs were chopped out and pulled through from the bulkhead,
this ment loosing the 4 plugs i had lying spare on the footwell too from the soarer loom,
i'll now hopefully have no more dead connectors lying filling up the engine bay
along with the footwell, it'll be less cluttered now!
all these wires in my hand were removed

next thing i'll be doing is rotating this water pipe around into the block where that other pipe is, it removes the oil / water heat exchanger mix and will hopefully make a slight difference in temps! i'll also be adding an oil cooler later which will remove the oil filter housing all together on the block and just run a stud out of the block

then onto swapping the injectors over, if anyone wants to buy the yellow injectors, they are £100 delivered and have been freshly flow tested and cleaned little under a few hundred miles ago, they are like new!

had a bit of a problem with the injectors and the plate that holds them down, the old o rings were flat and useless

thankfully the hydraulic shop next door had a box of various sizes, so i used one around the whole injector and packed the tiny gap with a small one on top

that's it for now, i'm waiting on an6 90 degree fittings arriving for my fuel rail as it turns out i had ordered the wrong fittings as push fit, doesn't mean push a hose on :S it is for a certain type of connector, so i'll have the right ones arrive along with some new braided hose then i can get started with refitting everything including the sard fpr, new fuel filter and a few other bits

---------------------------------------------------
so basically not a good update!....i'm yet again waiting on the post man.....
massive thanks to mark for helping recalibrate the tps, tedious job!
my 90 degree fittings arrived for the fuel rail
got them assebled onto the braided hoses

then swapped the fuel filter with a new one

and went to fit the new injectors and fuel rail....
nope
the plugs are different, went online and couldn't find anyone breaking a uk spec 2j supra or 7mgte with the same plugs, so i was impatient and went and paid driftmotion alot of money for 6 new plugs with pig tails

then 6minutes after i paid them, nigel my mate messaged me saying he had sourced me some....doh! so i bought them and will just sell the driftmotion ones on when they get here
i know you can grind down the tabs on the side however every single injector plug on my loom was broken anyway and all held on with tie wraps, in the end it's better replacing them

along with a new alternator 'extension' lead but i'll be chopping that off and using the new plug on my loom
made a new set of power wires for the injectors, they all came from the resistor pack and stripped the loom back to one of the injector main black/orange feeds to give the resistor pack some power

then put on the rail for a test fit to make sure the fuel pipes weren't leaking
just aswell i checked....
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=uG9R...2bK4jNSccYGorA
http://youtu.be/uG9RDVApsO8

turns out the welder had marked the sealing face of one of the fittings when pulling away with the torch just simply with the heat
anyway, new fittings are on the way and i now cannot get anything else done until they arrive....

so i made the screen wash work by stealing the rear wash pipe and ran some cable from the fusebox up front, just need to make a support bracket

and put in my black recaro just to see how it will look, still waiting on nengun to send me my rail adapters, after being told a posting date, they have delayed it twice, quite annoying!
pretty annoying to be honest as i'm so close to booking for mapping!
oh also ment to add, i bypassed the heat exchanger's oil/water cooling mixer, this will hopefully keep temps seperate/down too, i'll be removing the fitler housing with just a stud coming from the block next and an oil cooler too!

i've decided to properly convert the car into mph and make up something to correctly display the speed rather than what i've previously had
original cars mileage in km's: 100456
new mph clocks: 69489
so i've added around 8-9 thousand miles onto the clock with using higher mileage mph clocks but it's all i have available,
i tried winding back a higher mileage set i got free from handsomedez on sxoc but that didn't work

and some blue lights as i'm matching the whole dash

along with some t3 blue led's for the climate control pannel

then onto the gearbox work, my box runs a cable drive speedo setup, this is the martin crawler speedo driver converter to allow a toyota multi plug and dakota converter
bought the converter from martin crawler brand new, along with pins and a plug from toyota, luckily i managed to pickup the dakota second hand for £70 ish

assembled the plug with a little grease, then extended the 3 wires on the plug around 3 feet to make sure i can have enough length to run the converter inside the arm rest for easy access

will update this with more pics later when i download them from my phone
my bride recaro passenger rail adapters arrived from nengun

unfortunately one month on, i'm still waiting on my driver bride rail from jdm distro, was told to expect up to 3 weeks delay for posting....apparently the parts aren't even in the country yet eithe

had my welder come back and weld on new fittings

so the fuel system is now sealed, so with that i put on the new toyota inlet mani gasket set and throttle body gasket

and got everything back together with the new sard fpr and braided hoses

then the annoying part......the emanage
tried the emanage on the car and it wouldn't run
thanks to nigel, mark and dan for all the suggestions and help!
turns out the boost cut map was set to 0.0v so the emanage wouldn't output a map sensor voltage to the ecu

the emanage would start the car but run stupidly rich and die on it's own, i set the injector sizes up correctly too.
i wasn't going to keep trying it as i don't want bore wash, the aem wideband can only read as low as 10 and it was stuck at a solid 10.0......
the red light was flashing when running saying fault codes 24, 25 and 26
so i took it apart and checked the jumper pins, they were all setup as it says in the manual, checked the rotary screws on the front, 7-4-0 as they should be
everything was setup as it should be, i was stumped and spent a weekend testing everything,
injector wiring, both cam and the crank sensors are within factory spec, timing is ok, was stumped,
all the plugs were coated so fuel was definately getting through, certainly no faulty injectors

eventually i sent the harness and the ecu down to nigel who i bought the harness from for checking, massive thank you to him as he found the firmware on the unit was corrupt and causing issues after trying it on his car and laptop (after many connection issues)
he updated it with the newest version and has sent me the most recent software for emanage which has wideband logging and a few other new features
decided since it's a matter of days until mapping, i didn't want anything failing on the rollers when the boost is turned up, after speaking with paul whiffin, he runs these whifbitz uprated ignition coils on his 1000+bhp supra
since my coils are nearly 20 years old, i bought a set of them and some new BKR8EIX since i'll need to swap out my 7's for 8's with running more boost
by the looks of it and what i've read on various supra forums, they are basically super sparks but without the branding or the yellow jackets

also bought one of the studs from him for removing the oil filter housing/heat exchanger

renewed the propshaft seal since i had caught it putting the prop in months ago lying on my back in the garage and just wanted to change it for maintenance, was only £9 for the seal
drained the oil

regreased the universal joints with the gun, put some rubber grease on the shaft to help it slide in the prop seal on the box without tearing it this time

so tomorrow i'll be fitting the emanage again hopefully without any issues and get the car ready for a base setup so i can drive to mapping!!!
FINGERS CROSSED!

----------------------------------------------
so, the new plugs and coils went in

then the emanage
everything worked

afr's are good and the live realtime data is all displaying correctly
many thanks to nigel west for all the help with sorting out my bad emanage, it's working great now, if you have an emanage, give him a shout as he sells usb cables and harnesses for them, made my harness and it's perfect
tidied it up into the glovebox, made a nice hole with a big drill, then realised my plugs wouldn't go through so i cracked out the dremel and made a rough square

unfortunately my bulbs were too small for my climate control so i've ordered more, t4 this time
because my alternator plug was worn, the wires were not being pushed onto the terminals correctly,
i've since sorted this with buying a 3 pin round alternator extension on ebay,
then just depin the side you don't need and push them into your current crimps on the toyota loom and tape up
all works fine now and no battery light anymore! and a total cost of £9, which is cheaper than just a plug from toyota if i remember correct

also fitted the martin crawler box speedo adapter and cable, just need to run them up to the dakota and a wire to the stock speedo unit via the old sr gearbox loom i've left connected behind the dash against the fusebox

i've assembled together the bride MO adapter plates onto my bride rail and then onto the bottom of my recaro seat, they didn't take too long to get here from nengun but the driver rail from jdm distro is still not here!! getting annoyed waiting now as i was told 3 weeks....
also put in some cage padding, need to order more though as i've ran out before the job was finished

had a little problem with my temp gauges, they would shoot up when i turned on the lights, after a big struggle, it turned out the greddy gauge bulb holders were causing a short in the system, not enough to blow a fuse but it was enough to throw positive voltage down the earth wire which was earthed to the same point as the gauges!!
all fixed now though!
and while i was trying to find this issue, i removed the HID's from my car temporarily for now as i was trying to fault find,
i have put back in two new standard h1 bulbs with the original wiring back together, i had the headlight allignment checked by the mot tester at my work as i've never done it since swapping the headlights over, they were basically facing the ground haha.

skirts are back on and now i'm just waiting for mapping to happen on thursday woohoo!!!

stevie had painted my spare timing cover and cam covers, made an awesome job as usual! so i threw on the belt cover for now, i'll be doing the timing belt and rocker covers+new gaskets over the winter
colour is awesome

thursday finally came! drove down to performance hq to have russ patton map the car for me

this is a very strong recomendation, seriously good mapper! very talented guy. i learned quite alot in a short period of time with him also which is always good.
the car now drives awesome, it's like an animal on the road!
i'll make a start about what went on....only had one real issue of the whole day which was a bonus! as i expected much worse since it's this car haha
got the car setup on the dyno

started checking everything before we started, base timing, fuel pressure, inj 1 was probed and a few other things
sytec gauge says 3bar, which you can clearly see here their pressure sensor says 3.4 bar! so i'll have to findout who i bought the gauge from and request a new one
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rwLg...ature=youtu.be
http://youtu.be/rwLg1An55RM&fs=1" width="644" height="390">http://youtu.be/rwLg1An55RM&fs=1" />http://youtu.be/rwLg1An55RM">http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=http://youtu.be/rwLg1An55RM
anyway, that was setup correctly and the runs begun

first few runs on the wastegate spring at 1.0 bar
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=IVobta4klf4

http://youtu.be/IVobta4klf4&fs=1" width="644" height="390">http://youtu.be/IVobta4klf4&fs=1" />http://youtu.be/IVobta4klf4">http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=http://youtu.be/IVobta4klf4

then started to up the boost, which wouldn't go up, turns out i was missing a small blanking plug on the wastegate top half so the pressure was not being made,
sorted that and the car began to hold boost very well

then setup the boost properly,
basically i have too much video footage from the day and my laptop isn't powerful enough to chop it all down with movie maker without freezing or crashing since it's all big files, so i'll just upload the final pulls to youtube at 1.5 bar
the car made 406 bhp and 357 lbft at the wheels! russ says due to the dyno using the smallest rollers, he said it will be around 470bhp at fly and 400 lbft at fly
the afr graph shows the last two runs, russ added some fuel and finalised the run using the safer map which is best for me since it's a drift car, i wasn't worried about chasing the max figure achievable, i wanted a powerful safe map
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8mYg...ature=youtu.be

http://youtu.be/8mYgmMzUiPE&fs=1" width="644" height="390">http://youtu.be/8mYgmMzUiPE&fs=1" />http://youtu.be/8mYgmMzUiPE">http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=http://youtu.be/8mYgmMzUiPE

so that's about it pretty much! roll on the next drift day.....although the car might be going into my mums garage over winter to keep it from the snow, as me and the girlfriend are looking at selling my flat to buy a house together,
which will mean one thing....finally MY OWN GARAGE! to keep the car in!
there are still a few other things to tackle first with the car,
i need to fit that oil cooler as the turbo is making my oil hotter than usual
the cooling system needs done again as it just doesn't do the job well enough in my opinion on track, so after some research, i've bought a gktech s14 sr20 cooling fan which is much more efficent than the standard viscous,
i've seen it used on a jz before online so hopefully without too much work, i can make it fit a jz water pump viscous coupling.
the front end will be tubed and move the radiator forward to make space for the viscous, proper ducting will be made for it along with the oil cooler placement

also one last thing, unfortunately jdm distro couldn't get my rail to me 5 weeks after i'd ordered it so i canceled the order and got a refund.
i'm now looking for a bride n049 MO rail with adapter paltes to fit my recaro seat, they said it was outwith their control and was a supply issue

got my T4 blue LED blubs from ebay to finish the climate control pannel

i've done a write up about fitting recaro seats using bride rails on sxoc, it includes a few options with different types of bride rails
http://www.sxoc.com/vbb/showthread.p...-Diy-Reference
made my old bride superlow rail fit my recaro

i'll be selling my takata harness soon as my mate's taking back the other one and i fancy a black pair of black TRS 4 point harnesses
instigram y0

as for now, i've spoke to my tig welder and he's happy to come up with his pipe bender during the xmas holidays and make up a front crash bar, along with hopefully a removeable slamm pannel, supports for oil cooler and new radiator mounts etc

oil cooler kit has turned up along with a new hid kit, oh and my gktech sr20 viscous fan which hopefully i'll be able to fit to my jz water pump
----------------------------------------------------

decided to get rid of the takata's as i want to keep with the whole black/oem type theme
got one trs black 4 point harness for a good price on ebay, will be buying another brand new one but i'm just waiting to see if anyone will be doing january sale deals

bought some aero catches from ep racing, and got myself a snap off boss for the wheel

got a new timing belt from toyota, was originally going to do it while the engine was on the stand in the begining but i didn't bother as it was replaced by the previous owner, however i'll be doing it since all the front of the car will be apart over xmas anyway

russ emailed me a jpg of the dyno graph

next up, my gk tech fan arrived (thanks kinghorn for sorting group buy) shame gktech don't do anything with postage deals etc on big orders
the gk tech fan for an s14 sr20 is one of the best upgrades and potentially one of the best fans on the market, they have a 60% increase in cooling capacity from what i've read
i was browsing speedtek's facebook page one night and came across a cefiro with a 1j using this fan, looked more into it and realised it can be done
compared the size to a stock 1j viscous and it's pretty similar

got a guy with a mill to measure the toyota water pump viscous unit's pcd and then match it into the gktech fan, it has bored out the middle of the gktech fan and some material from the toyota hub had to be removed to let the fan go all the way on

hopefully with a custom made cowling this should see my coolant temps stay pretty low and work better than the electric fans i had
my new oil cooler kit and some extra 90 degree AN10 fittings are here now, these will all go onto my mishimoto cooler and hopefully keep temps low enough during drifting

the spare core from the kit will probably be for sale, unless i can somehow modify it into the power steering system and use it as an extra cooler for that

replaced the bearing in my spare fan belt tensioner so when the timing belt is done i'll have a good tensioner going back on, nothing wrong with the one coming off just that it was cheap for a replacement bearing so might aswell do it
also cleaned the unit up and gave it a lick of paint

so got the car over to my work and started stripping stuff

rad will need modified again to get the top water neck straight or spun 180 to angle it away from the new fan setup
washed out the cooling system
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LQxM...ature=youtu.be
http://youtu.be/LQxM2sU9eHw

got the crank pulley and timing covers off, alternator removed and laid out of the way

then set the timing ready to remove the tensioner and then the old belt
had to cut it short as i was running late for my work's xmas meal, i'll be back after christmas day to finish it with the new timing belt, new fan setup etc
the exciting stuff starts at the weekend though as my mate is coming over with his pipe bender and we will be making a new slam pannel to move the radiator forward a few inches,
i'll be replicating a nismo s14 front brace by bracing the front tension rod brackets and joining them with a piece of roll cage pipe,
also will be making some sort of intercooler protection with a few bars incase i have another facial wall tap haha

loads of work has been done over the last few days, basically haven't had a christmas holiday, spent all my spare time on the car when i'm not out dog walking haha
new timing belt on

also a new fan belt just because i had it spare in the boot

then the painted rocker covers went on, the paint on these is cool, sparkles nice when hit by light
new toyota rocker cover gaskets, new toyota pcv valve rubber seal for side of cover and a new toyota breather middle pipe
also resealed the halfmoons on the back of the head behind the cams

whipped off the oil cooler housing and fitted the oil filter relocation plate along with the garage whifbitz oil housing removal stud

made a start at making some of the oil pipes, can't go any further now though until the oil cooler is mounted in it's final position so i know what lengths to make

my mate paul has got some mega fab skills and done a few jobs in the past for me
I have gave him the awful lengthy task of making the front end mega!
first of all

a DIY nismo power brace with extra bracing

painted

was a complete bitch to go back on with the tension rods still in position
and as per my usual, every single thread was greased

then came fitting the aero catch bonnet retainers

unfortunately we were a bit off with getting the pins exactly right,
using the original holes behind the headlights we put the pins in position but left them up too high which means the bonnet wasn't in it's final postion,
so when everything went together they were off by about 1cm unfortunately, However it's not all bad as the new slam pannel can just house them slightly further back and all is good
choppy choppy, on goes the gktech fan

paul made a start to the crash bar using the oem front mounts

made out of 42mm roll cage pipe and a proper pipe bender

after ALOT of fitting/removing the bumper to make sure it's a nice snug fit, the front bar is done

beefed up the oem mounts

(it's upside down in the pic) including an extra lower mount which will be using a 12.0 strength bolt each side

pretty awesome tbh

bumper hides everything and the headlight will cover the side impact bar, pretty much all looks oem from the outisde

a good mate of mine fraser mac has started a new car group called 'aberdeen hardstyle' and came round to take some pics for that and potentially a write up on fueltopia

paul made up some thick tubes with nuts welded ontop for the bonnet pins,
these have been welded to the 'floor' of the engine bay behind the headlights and will be braced to be strong enough to support the bonnet pins

that's up to date for tonight, i've literarly stuck every spare minute i have on the car just now and too many late nights are getting boring now...
tomorrow's plan is brace up the aerocatch pin mounts and then out of 20mm tube make up a new front end holding headlights, oil cooler, radiator and whatever else

the last 5 nights in a row have been spent working on the car to get it finished, even a cheeky new years eve visit before drinking!
cutting out part of the battery tray to make way for the new solid aero catch pin mounts

towing this car has ALWAYS been an issue because the i/c 90 degree bend had always sat in the way, it would always mean removing the pipe or wrecking it when the rope tightens
also the bumper covers it so it's quite useless, I had a spare trs tow strap lying in a box so i asked paul to weld it solidly to the bottom of the crash bar, that was no damage will be done if the car ever needs pulled at the front

used it to hang while painting

feet chopped off the rad and rewelded in new positions using other holes on bottom mounts
this has allowed the rad to come as far forward as possible without chopping the cross member beam

the begining of the new slam pannel, it's removeable and the ends have been capped with holes for two removeable m8 bolts

rad mounts made up

and oil cooler mounts too!
i bought some extra 90 degree AN10 fittings, decided to use them wrapped around the radiator to make pipework easier

filter relocation mounted, only trouble was the threads wouldn't match the toyota oil filter in the kit so i had to use that filter as it was the only one which would fit and was the same size

starting to come together now!

fmic got some new solid mounts, this is to mount it solid as i had an idea for the headlights

new headlight mounts made up, plan for these is (hopefully it won't happen) but if there's another bump or anything along that lines, it'll hopefully fold the brackets back before destroying anything else, allowing the slam pannel to remain untouched and undamaged
they are weak enough to fold but strong enough to hold the lights in place steady enough

new slam pannel finished minus a mount for holding the bonnet stay pin

with moving the rad forward, my coolant hose wouldn't work so paul made up this

after a little chopping and some more tig welding to make a bead around the ends it's finished

done

chopped up an old sr20 lower rad hose and it worked perfectly
pretty much minus some HID's, a custom made fan cowling, a bonnet stay and some painting, the front end is finished now

the gktech fan sits there perfectly, it's a little higher than the radiator but that'll be covered with a cowling
i've had to chop out alot of my bonnet inner skin though to get all this to fit

wings still need adjusting to get them sitting right and so on.....
looking mean!

next thing to do is go back and paint a few areas that have been ground for welding etc, make a fan shroud, fit my new hid ballasts and the rest of the headlamp loom will need tucked along the front somewhere
unfortunately one of josh's welds broke off inside my exhaust pipe and it's the stud which holds on my o2 sensor, it's not tight at one side so i have an exhaust leak,
which will throw off my wideband gauge so i'm not to keen on driving it until this is fixed as i want to be sure my afr's are exactly as should be reading!.
pretty much it'll be a pain to sort so i'll be making a new downpipe with a new flexi which a full 3" with bends around the rack input shaft point,
the exhaust hits the floor everywhere so we will be making an oval exhaust next month to gain ground clearance, hopefully i'll be able to go a little lower too
i'd like to thank my mate paul jamieson for putting in SO much time and hard work into this job lately, highly recommend him to everyone for tig welding and such like, his work is SPOT on! and if it's not right he will keep going until it's perfect. If you need his details pm me aberdeen guys!
------------------------------------------
got the front end back together and put in a new set of 6k HID's i bought online weeks ago
i need to allign the lights again with the beam setter

car was then moved onto the spare ramp which is never used and i could begin the next job i've wanted to sort for a while
since going single turbo the exhaust has always pissed me off, keeps catching the speed bumps outside my house, without a flexi in the downpipe either i was worried i'd cause some damage above
it had buffed through one of the welded joins on the back too and was leaking out there

also when on the rolling road, i had to remove the wastegate to make an adjustment, done this by removing the lambda sensor from the downpipe and it came out the top
the lambda sensor stud which was a bolt welded onto the back of the flange had snapped the weld and was spinning!! tightened it with vice grips holding the thread and an open end spanner
overtime with the heat etc it must have worked it's self loose as when i tried to tighten it again the stud just fell out in my hands

so as per usual with my car, nothing's done in half measures....:S new exhaust time
the stud left me in a pickle, josh had welded the bolt to the lambda sensor flange, then the flange was welded ontop of the downpipe we made then the hole for the sensor drilled out
so i couldn't get a welding torch inside at the angle to tack a new bolt in place and my exhaust was badly leaking from there since only half the sensor was held on, throwing off my afr gauge which i couldn't risk
new exhaust time then!

took off the downpipe and exhaust, checked the manifold for any leaks incase it wasn't just the downpipe i was hearing, all is good!

bought a few v bands for making a new system, no more gaskets to ever leak!

spare 3" flexi from previous box of spares
and took delivery of some 3" 1.5 meter lengths of pipe

the apex exhaust backbox will possibly be going too as i'm potentially making a staggered shotgun backbox now....NO silencers BLAST PIPES!
my mate paul is chopping up some 3" pipe into loads of little angle pieces to make a 'lobster back' style downpipe, basically loads of pieces put together to form tight angles
the exhaust will be tig stainless welded and the plan now is to make it a full oval system along the floow for maximium ground clearance
the last thing i've done lately is get the reverse lights working
the reverse light switch on the gearbox had basically no loom left as someone cut it super short before i bought the box, managed to get two wires soldered onto what's left and joined them into the oem sr gearbox loom which was still hanging down the back of my dash from the fusebox

------------------------------------------------------
some more work was done last night

v band on apex backbox and on bottom of flexi for new downpipe

paul had managed to use the massive press at his work on some pieces of my pipe for the floor of the car, however when they squash normally the ends pinch and become almost pointed

so a solid bar in the vice and each pipe was hand beaten into a circle at the sides, took me ages haha

while i was doing that, paul started making the new downpipe

the last pipe had to be dented in with a hammer to clear the last cylinder's manifold branch, now, since we have more time/material etc it has correct clearance and much more room to allow for expansion etc (not that it'll be much)

and same again with the steering rack, rather than a mashed in pipe, this time it has max clearance

one 'finished' downpipe, needs welded up which paul's going to make a jig for to stop any flex/movement with heat

the other thing needing added is my lambda sensor stainless fitting which will be made up and a wideband bung which i have

I haven't dived in too deep on my single turbo setup, but is that oil feed for the twins from stock like that or is that a tapped portion?

Just spend a fair bit of time reading your whole build. Wow, I mean wow, this car is sick! Great work, getting a lot of inspiration for my build here.

thanks guys!

the oil feed is one of the twin turbo oil feeds from the block into an AN4 adapter with a 1.5mm restrictor, then just a braided hose up to the turbo oil in hole, the back oil feed has been blocked off with a bolt and a sealing washer as it's not needed anymore

-----------------

friday evening's work!
made up the last section to join the backbox on

also got the exhaust sitting at a slight angle which was exactly what i'd wanted
then every join was stainless tig welded

paul had to take the downpipe to his work to use a different tig plant which could pulse and go slightly lower amp's than his own one, this will hopefully stop the downpipe moving with good heat management
took my camera down to the workshop for some better pics,
anti roll bar will be off again, it was only on there to use as a guide for making the exhaust
the front is also support with tie wraps since the downpipe was off

wish i could weld properly, i'll be looking into my own tig plant soon and going to make an attempt at starting to learn, i know a fair bit now through picking up from what paul's told me so it should be good fun

diff will be changed this week because i'm sick of the green backplate now haha!
***update, downpipe has been done, will get more pics of that later! and it fits perfectly still, just need to get the lambda sensor, wideband sensor and some brackets fitted to it!

downpipe back from welding

including the lambda sensor flange i'd made

a tag was welded onto the downpipe and a bracket made up with an A brace to support the downpipe

also the wideband bung was put in further down and a new hanger made for the center pipe off the gearbox mount box section

unfortunately when starting the car up last night the vband connecting the downpipe to the floor section had warped when welding,
it's not the downpipe side it's the center section piece, so i have a new vband on the way to replace the fitting on the exhaust then it should be ready for wrapping up and finally getting finished!

------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
not very much going on lately, the dog has gone through a serious leg operation so he requires constant care for the next 3 weeks, no walks or exercise, no climbing on/off the sofa or bed, no jumping etc
it's a complete nightmare to be honest
so the car has been put on the back burner for the moment
after the annoying vband leak, new vbands were welded onto the pipes with a new clamp
i'd wrapped up the exhaust with black heat wrap, soaked it in water first and it goes on 10x easier that way
the warped vband can also be seen in this pic

however, even with welding on the lowest setting and being left clamped together overnight there was still a slight distorsion on the brand new pair of flanges
gap can be seen here slightly

afr's are bouncing around all over the place on idle from cold as the wideband sensor is after this, so i'll get a vband gasket and some copper sealant paste in the join and it should be 100% as it's nothing like it was before

i had done some diff swapping with people/selling some and finally got myself another welded 4.3
cleaned and painted the diff, new oil and painted the backplate silver this time

looks much better than the green now

the diff had a little end float on the half shaft as the retaining clip was worn, shouldn't matter much anyway as the gktech spacers keep it pretty much pressed in tight into the diff anyway

got sick of the gfb controller laying ontop of my dash just flying arond
tiger sealed a bolt onto the back as it doesn't come with a holder, you only get a piece of sticky back tape for mounting it which didn't work well on my dash
used an existing hole for the old fan switch and put it to good use

removed the 70mm greddy gauge and sold it to a mate,
replaced it with a smaller 60mm greddy gauge and a random ebay holder which broke as soon as i tried to push the gauge through
had some spare time at work waiting between jobs, took the backbox off and had some proper buffing pads on the grinder, finally got a good shine back

bought a new wide angle lens attachment on ebay for a tenner so tried it out

chopped up a silencer and made it fit my backbox

car is nearly ready to come home, all that's left is a fan shroud and i've got some 1200 degree capable silicone on the way for sealing the turbo vband better
also got a black turbo blanket on the way so i'll be selling that kevlar one i have on just now

-------------------------------------------------------------------
had a few issues lately and all sorted out now
the top vband had not sealed correctly, turns out when the old vband was welded onto the back of the turbo, it had warped both flanges the same, then made the downpipe from there
however they had sealed fine since they had warped together against each other
then when a new flat vband was used when we made the new downpipe, the new flat face wouldn't seal against the warped vband face on the turbo from the old downpipe

however, it couldn't be heard which was odd, just noticed a tiny bit of water dripping out on first startup,
probably covered by the noise of the new viscous fan, the afr gauge was thrown off by miles so i knew i had a leak

had a piece of pipe welded inside the turbo to bypass the vband and create a sleeve, it was cut down a bit too so it's not that long
sealed perfectly exhaust is done!
moved the oil filter relocation block aswell to stop the oil draining back out the filter, also has made the pipework easier to access and clears the intercooler pipework fine now
awful pic, but basically it's 100x better there

nearly finished now wish my black turbo jacket would hurry up and need to make a fan shroud before i go skidding

new turbo jacket turned up

thanks to my mate alex, we rolled the front arches as the tyres were constantly catching, wasn't too worried how they would turn out as i want vented wings anyway, plus one wing is slightly bent from my headlight hitting the wall at finalboss last year

one side came out really good

the passenger side, not so well, the arch liner retainer tab caught the inside of the arch and caused a crease so we gave up while we were ahead haha

it'll be sorted one day however i'm really keen on getting some vented +20mm front wings from srb power and a dmax bonnet so i'll see what 2015 brings
tonight i properly done the driver side harness, it's wrapped around the cage and properly adjusted for me now

with all that done i took her out for a run since the roads had sort of dried up

drives crap, needs alligned again so bad, since removing the front tension rod brackets for making the front brace, it has thrown off the allignment
pulls all over the place when accelerating and that's before the back end slips
unfortunately due to money circumstances i'll have to sit the car out of this month's drift practice day
me and the mrs are looking at selling my flat and getting a house together (WITH GARAGE) so i have to clear my credit card before we start a new mortgage deal so that's getting worked on at the minute haha
i'm going to the sxoc drift day at driftland in march anyway so that's something to look forward to!!
can't afford to spend the price of the drift day, fuel (£130 average), allignemnt (£150) this month, it's too much money that i don't have spare
however that's only for now, i'll be good to go again over the next few weeks !!!!

---------------------------------------------------------------

few updates, haven't been drifting yet, life got in the way, sold my flat and bought a house....ran out of time to get it alligned for a driftland practice day
going to head to the next private day with a few mates when we get it booked unless something comes up before then
pretty much the car is on hold until we get the keys next month for the new place, it has a garage so the car will now have constant dry storage

picked up a set of r33 gtr skid wheels and put on some 225's

reverse light sensor from the toyota gearbox wired into the s14 reverse light switch wiring

along with the dakota speedo converter, that was also calibrated correctly and now the car reads correctly in mph instead of kilometers

----------------------------------------------------------------------------------

got a mint set of 350z alloy wheels with basically new tyres all round

since rolling the arches out, i managed to squeeze the alignment gauges over the wheels at my work to set the front toe
anyway after alot of messing around, it didn't work as the gauges didn't sit correctly in the wheels as they fell inside the dished part of the rim,
so it's booked into wallace performance again for a full 4 wheel lazer setup

tried to sort out he wavy passenger arch, done not bad, it has a kink where the arch starts to flare out and i can't get rid of it. just in an attempt to get it looking better until i can afford new wings

bought a house with the mrs and moved out my flat, best bit....repainted the garage and got it ready for the car's arrival to it's new bedroom haha

it's not very big, just a basic single with a 7ft wide door and it has a bloody waste pipe for the upstairs bathroom runing through the garage making it again 7ft wide at one point inside
it does open out slighty as you go further in so pleanty of room to get the door open

going to put some racking up the back, one side for all the cleaning stuff and the other side for the jz spare stuff
good thing is though, there's just enough room to get in and clean the car....gave her a clay bar, polish and wax

also picked up another pair of work e wing, 17x9.5 (et10-15 at a guess) need to get these polished and i'm going to compare these to my current front wheels and work out if they will give more clearance on full lock as my current front wheels are 10j

booked into wallace performance this week for a 4 wheel lazer alignment,
and i've got a few more cooling system things to do before i go, going to swap to an s14 sr radiator so the top hose it on the other side, i've done some research and this will cool more efficently than the s13 rad
also got a mk3 supra fan shroud to collect from a mate to try on the car as my alloy tig welder is mega busy just now with other jobs so he can't manage
i desperately want a rear bash bar/jacking bar
then i'm off to driftland for a practice day with a few mates that we have booked so hopefully everything will go well with the cooling system/new power and it'll be good to get back out in it properly!

had the car into wallace performance for an alignment check, they still couldn't get the castor set as the machine won't pick it up on my car
needing to get it checked somehow soon as it's never been set right!

then loaded the car up and made the trip to driftland for the may weekender
only done the saturday and went home as i ran out of tyres/had stuff to do on the sunday

arrived there after a long drive with the garage hobo lot, unfortunately paul's mk3 supra done the bottom end in on the way down so his weekend was cut short

got my first few laps in....was VERY nervous and shi**ing myself haha, first time drifitng in 10 months (ignore the temp gauges, camera caught them funny)

ran the full outside anti clockwise so loads of speed along the wall then a big throw into the corner

thanks to the photographers who took pics of me skidding, hit them up on facebook and give them a like!

new cooling system: works 10000% better and last thing i need to do is swap my s13 radiator to an s14 sr radiator as the hose is in a different place which apparently cools the water better due to being forced through the rad differently, also a fan shroud to be made up
new turbo setup: awesome! i have had to re-learn how to drive the car on the track, it requires a solid commitment to keep it in boost while drifting since it's a big laggy as it'll immediately grip throwing you wherever it wants if you don't keep your foot planted
however, all the upgrades have been worth it, the car sounds so cool now with the new stuff and the cooling system has bought me alot more seat time, temps still rise but nowhere near as quick as they used to, also that's with the bonnet and bumper still on!
Had loads of nice compliments about the car when people seen it at driftland which was really cool

i'd bought a gopro hero 3 white edition, here's a small clip from one of my track sessions, took a young lad out from the pits who loved it! was his first time in a drift car
i still refuse to skid/manji along the wall after last year's spin haha. MORE SEAT TIME NEEDED!! i was slowly building my confidence by the end of the day,
I CAN'T WAIT TO GET MORE SEAT TIME AND PRACTICE IN!!

so after some more thought about improving the car further, i've decided a few things i'd like to do, first is the rad water neck, have it moved instead of using another rad i bought since my slam pannel is made to fit my rad perfectly
using an exhaust bung for a reference of where i'd want the new pipe to come out the rad from

since it was sunny and i had saturday off work i took the old rad and top pipe out the car, drained the water from the engine and washed it through with the garden hose

washed out the rad, i just need to get it dropped off at my tig welder's place and he will be adjusting it for me got a length of aluminium pipe and a few silicone pipes so hopefully it won't take too long to make something up for a top hose
------------------------------------------------------------

rad top water neck moved over and a new top tank made so it looks cleaner

put on a new top pipe with a 90 bend off the engine instead of having the water neck changed again

had a fan shroud made up but it didn't fit well enough so it has been put back to be changed,
pulled car out the garage to test fit on the other wheels and bleed the coolant

leading up to finalboss, i finally got round to fitting the sunstrip i bought last year
was rather tricky on your own haha! was good enough to last the whole weekend though

and one on the rear window

ready

------------------------------

arrived at finalboss, screen shot from jeek's video of the pits in the morning

heading out

didn't enjoy the first layout, the shiftlock layout, pickup alot of speed along the straight then have to go in at such a tight angle
like this:

it's basically a U shape but tighter, stuck in second gear giving it man foot
done one line completely wrong and clipped the grass verge on transition with the driver side 1/4, went wide and dropped a wheel of track putting a ding in the bottom of the rear 1/4
no paint damage, just an awkward part where it has been pushed in underneath, the bumper also broke off it's mounts and left them bolted too the car
snapped a magic aero spat in half which is more annoying as he has gone out of business now
thankfully it's nothing serious, all easily fixed and didn't stop me having fun the whole weekend

once the track opened up to the full outer layout i was having possibly the best time i've ever had in a car. such a good weekend and many thanks to finalboss/gary boyd for organising it
marshalls were ace, photographers were ace, banter in the pits was 1st class too, was good seeing all the english lads again
here are some of the pics

also getting my bumper back

team tekno guys in the 86's were so good to watch, let alone drive with, that's me up front

my fav pic, so good!

gave my mate fraser a lift home on the sunday, thanks to him and jamie for taking wheels down, bad luck his wheel spacer sheered and gave up down there

since getting home, the car has sat in the garage, been busy with other stuff
got the bottom of the rear 1/4 pulled out,
bought a new pair of spats and they are now off to get painted silver, i only needed one but couldn't buy them seperate

i'll get some of the footage i'd asked photographers to send me uploaded to youtube and on here soon

my changes for the next drift day, i want to put a set of anti roll bars on my car (never ran any), get the alignment done properly, soften the rear damping, run less tyre pressure on the back and run wider rear tyres

------------------------------------------------------------------

spats arrived

dropped them off at stevie's to get painted
took the car for another alignment, this time at a different place

front caster wasn't too far off for having never been setup since i put the car together, annoyingly nobody could set it/had a machine that could that i knew of until now

all better! just got too try level off my front camber as one side has more, i think it's because recently i had the front hub bolts slack and maybe didn't pull the hub out when tightening them again

bought some more parts, can't wait to go drifting again
A31 Cefiro front anti roll bar, ultra racing 27mm
Super pro Front anti roll bar drop links and bushes
ultra racing front 27mm D poly bushes
super pro polybush rear anti roll bar D bushes
super pro rear drop links and poly bushes
also bought a stock rear anti roll bar (18mm) and then had it blasted and powdercoated along with all D bush brackets

conceptua tuning gave me an awesome deal on the roll bar parts and some other engine bits i've ordered for something else
unforutnately i got ripped off £80 just for powdercoating the roll bar, i'm not going back there again!

everything is absoltuely covered in grease and the superpro supplied grease, i'm very much against leaving things dry and prone too failure
plus it means next time you come to work on it, you just wipe the grease off and the threads/bushes are like brand new underneath, for example, my alignment last month!

the a31 rb cefiro anti roll bar clears the 1jz front sump fully, i did have too trim down two brace brackets on the nismo style front bar however it still has the solid bar fitted so no difference there really
also had to reduce my steering lock, thankfully i'd thought about this when making the front end, the lock stops were easy, just undone the two 22mm nuts and unscrewed the lock stops forward so the wheels don't hit the new roll bar
it has been a great weekend, i took the car out for a run afterwards and it's quite different now, it certainly stays more level now

also this week a spare kouki rear bumper turned up which i have planned to get repainted as mine has a few marks

--------------------
so i'm starting a new project, a new engine, some fun basically to get going in my spare time.
the plan is to have an engine with some better down low power, spools the turbo quciker and is 100% reliable and fresh
new piston rings, new head gasket, new cams, new gaskets everywhere etc

bought a new block, more info on this later

started stripping my spare 1jz head

took it down to a local head shop

along with some new stem seals, (24 in total)

all valve guides are nice and tight, he said the only bad bit was one valve was showing sign of burning the seat, you can see it in this pic

so 24 valves cleaned, polished, shimmed and reground later, and 24 new stem seals
the head had 7thou remvoed and resurfaced

P.S THERE IS NOTHING WRONG WITH MY CURRENT ENGINE! this is just a bit of a fun side project

bought some ep racing bonnet spacers, seen them on a few comp cars and decided that funciton>form, not a huge fan of how they look but if they work then they are staying
next option is a vented dmax bonnet

repaired my wind deflector which snapped in half at finalboss on track, used tiger seal and found a perfect method of holding it still haha
not sure why or how but the broken off half was found by one of the staff there, many thanks to that dude! can't remember your name sorry

also got round to putting the original Q's badges back on, hopefully they will stay on and won't get slapped off by a tyre haha

new 235/40/17 federal 595 rsr tyres bought from mytyres.com for the front

on and balanced

bought a 350z steering pump

and some cnc made brackets from steven donnelly at diemax, great guy and very helpful! highly recommend him!
these retain the stock location of the power steering pump but using the 350z pump, so i didn't even have to change my aux belt

installed, i just had to change the position of my fuel pipe since the feed pipe is slightly different now and the fuel rail AN fitting i used was originally made around the old pump

rolled her outside and started the car

filled with fresh new steering fluid as i'd drained the system
unfortunately my japspeed radiator had cracked along the bottom tank, it was spraying water onto the aux belt and causing it to squeak
that was the end to my weekend, i had arranged to go drifting on sunday too so the saturday was a massive disapointment for me after doing all that work on the car with the roll bars, new tyres etc then this....
koyo rad ordered through auto extreme, which also means i now have to make a new front pannel as it was made around the s13 japspeed rad which isn't as wide as the koyo one
got my 1jz rocker covers back with 2xan10 breathers welded on, one hole blocked off by the turbo
also a 22mm pipe welded into the alloy sump for the drain

-------------------------------------------------
thanks to auto extreme, my koyo rad arrived also ordered a koyo rad cap, unfortuantely doesn't come with a new cap!

fitting was a bit of a nightmare due to the old japspeed rad being smaller, the new front rad pannel had to be redone
chopped off what was there, cut slits into the existing pipe and bent it further forward to gain more angle, then paul it welded back up

then cut out a small piece on each side and welded the gaps, this allowed the rad to come properly forward this time
welded shut the gaps then sprayed to prevent rust

getting there

tacked rad mounts in place before fully welding

top hose done, i have ordered a mkiv supra radiator hose kit to see if that will work better and just have one silicone top pipe rather than a join

was missing the lower part of my mk3 supra fan shroud so paul shaped a piece of aluminium to fit

oil cooler mounts welded back on and it just needs painted now

this time with a fan shroud

unfortunately i had to miss out on the november 1st skid day at driftland as i bought a car the weekend before
so all my spare money/drift fuel money was used on the car and transport tickets to england and fuel all the way back to scotland for my new daily

one last thing, finally got a few of the clips taken by people uploaded into one small video from finalboss 2015

got myself a 4.1 ratio diff and had it welded

then painted the casing silver, also put in new oil and sealed on the backplate
also put in some driftworks solid front diff bushes
the next thing i'd wanted to do was black out my headlights like i had done on my first s14a 5 years ago
used a bosch heat gun and made them toasty hot to break the sealant, then pulled them apart which was quite tricky
took out the screws and removed the chrome insets and painted them

did the same to the sidelights, these are a bit harder as they are all plastic as opposed to the headlights, so more chance of bending them out of shape

all i need to do is reheat them back up for refitting and i'll also be adding a bead of tiger seal around them before i push them back together
i've also ordered a pair of +25mm vented front wings from kinzuru kits

--------------------------
bought red lense tint spray and done the amber corners on the back lights

just need to add a light layer of black over them

bought new gauges from demon tweeks, 2 SPA designs 52mm half and half gauges
one is water temp / battery voltage
other is oil pressure / temprature
all come with new sensors / loom

bought an inline rad hose fitting and put the new water temp sensor in there

changed the water neck on the engine and used the old oem 90 degree bend i had for my other head, (looking for one of these if anyone has one for sale)

also renewed the O rings in the water pump return top pipe and put a new gasket in behind it against the head....£3.19 plus vat per washer :S

then a new supra 2jz top rad hose which had to be cut down to fit

since the tiger seal was out for the headlights i thought now would be a good tinme to do the bung on my rear window

then the black front lights

unforutnately the car sat like this during the wait for my new front wings....

after alot of chasing and so on, turns out they were behind on production, i couldn't wait as i had to get wings on the car for a test fit / drop them off to paint / refit them back onto the car in time for a photographer
one quick call to EP racing, within 24 hours they were here

dropped them off at stevie's on friday night, went to collect them at 8am sunday looking like this.....

can't thank stevie b enough! match is perfect and paint is perfect as usual....so good of him to squeeze them in with such a short notice of time!
rushed home to get them on the car as i only had two hours spare on sunday to get things 100% for monday's photo session

------------------------------------

monday 30th nov 2015 banzai japanese car magazine shoot day!
I arrived nice and early to get everything setup and the car cleaned again

photographs were taken by Steve McCann, nice fella and will be doing my wedding next year too which is cool

I will post his pics when i get permission, from what i've seen already they look next level!
no date when it will be featured in the mag as it's just up to the editors whenever they fancy using it so i'll just be keeping an eye out for it
all i can say is i'm over the moon

number plate ain't real....

shots continued into the evening/sunset

anyway, for now, the car is stored in the garage all nice and warm for winter coming
possibly sold my rear wheels too which will give me some money to get my other work wheels chrome coated and cleaned up so the car will finally have a matching set

bought this (thanks mike)

and modified my bride basemount rail to fit as a temp solution

sold the black recaro recliners i had that were in the car, they are great seats but i wanted something more supportive and it made sense to get some cash back out of them

not much to post tbh, car hasnt came out the garage since the banzai shoot....saving money just now for the new engine build
swapping cylidner heads with my mate steve with a 1jz fd rx7 as my head has been skimmed and had new stem seals put in, so he is giving me his old head plus some money as i've had a change of plans for the head
going to have steve's 1j head ported out and bench tested to get as much gain as possible that way it wont mean tearing down a fully built head + possibly skimming it again for no reason

i did however pick up a new timing belt 2jz oem toyota kit

also ordered a genuine toyota 1jz head gasket kit which has new stem seals, new rocker gaskets etc etc
and the last thing i've bought is a new crank pulley from toyota....yeah for those who know about them :S they aren't a cheap part !
so hopefully that's the last of the toyota parts i've had to order and i can focus on getting the actual block and head done now
currently have a stock s14 seat in the passenger side now, keeping my eyes open on the forums for a cheap black recliner bucket seat
================================================== ===

oem crank pulley

got steve's head as we've done an swap plus money my way to cover me for the work done on previous head

oem toyota head set turned up, head gasket, valve stem seals, intake manifold gasket, every o ring in the engine, front and back crank seals, exhaust manifold gaskets, rocker cover gaskets, rocker cover stud gaskets and so on

2jz timing belt kit turned up, my new toyota part collection is getting bigger! almost finished with ordering parts though which is good

lay the 264 cams in the head and gently bolted them in

i made a box for posting the head and it's now sent down to a specialist down south for a massive job list to be done, mainly porting the chambers and polishing etc, blueprinting/port matching
i think there will be good gains to be had, especially seeing how much material there is to remove

my wood work skills aren't up too much! however the box is strong enough to protect the cylinder head

also 2/6 oil squirters showed up for the GE block

not much to update really, been collecting parts and getting organised
two cam sensors, one new crank sensor, one water temp ecu sensor and a thermostat

6x oil squirter bolts arrived from japan

ordered some brian crower titanium retainers and valve springs from conceptua, I wish i'd planned this earlier as i could have gone up a cam size
swapped some parts for another front sump, this is an original jzx90 with factory oil return flange, started cleaning it up

oil squirters finally showed up, again some missing but heh never mind, i ordred two sets as i've got a set for a friend

also a new water neck from a vvti this time, this only has one water outlet for a turbo so if the new turbo i buy needs water cooled, i'll take it from there

as for now, my head is still down at the head shop and will be there for a while
monday i plan on taking my block to get machined for squirters
have a provisional buyer for my current setup which i'm relying on bringing in money so i'll find out what's happening there once he updates me

also I need to research top feed 1jz fuel rails now as those plus intake manifolds are basically the last thing I need to decide on / choose, then they are added to the ridiculous shopping list....
