Cant shift when car is started... why?
I'm new here and I have seen a previous post about this similar problem except mine is different. The car goes into gear when not on but when it turns on it grinds in reverse and doesn't go into the other gears. The guy I bought it from said that he just put a brand new clutch in and it was for a dual cam motor and the car is a single cam. He said something about the bearing not fitting because of that so he said all I may need is a bearing. But the bearing still want fit because of the clutch so will I just need to get a new single cam clutch or can I fix it another way?

SOHC clutch and DOHC clutch are the same freakin thing. So thats not your issue. i Would try using the clutch when shifting, should go into every gear just fine.
