ok, here's the deal i have a 89 S13 with megan track coilovers rolling on stock 16x6.5's with 205/60-15's on them. now what i want is a set of 17x9's (any brand or offset) all the way around with 255/40-17's at every corner. i've been looking at the fno1r-c's for the S13 that are 17x9 +20, with those work? they are on the highest price end. then i found some cheap sportmax 962's that are 17x9 +35 offset. i'm not looking to tuck my tires of slam my body, i just want the car to set level with a no finger gap. is it possible with either of these wheels? i really have my eyes set of a set of Falken Azenis Rt615 in 255/40-17's for every corner.

you'll be cutting it really close w/ the 17x9+20 & a 225/40R17 Tire...

I had 225/40 tire on my 18x9+20 w/ kts coilovers and I had barelyyyyyy any room. If I had gone 255 tires, the tire would have hit the coilover in front.

The 17x9+35 will only clear your rear coilovers, they will not clear your fronts w/o a spacer.

If you are planning to use 300zx brakes, +35 wont work. If you dont care about sunken rims you can sport them. However, any aero put on the car will make the rims look sunken in.

what if i just used a 17x7 in the front with a 225-235/40 and the 17x9 with the 255/40 in the rear? i plan on using Q45 brakes front a rear and not really doing a widebody, just a bumpers and skirts. thanks justin

just to give you a heads up, phase2 will have 17x9 +15 wheels 4 lug coming soon. you might want to wait for that.

ive seen firebird and camaro owners put 315/30s on 17x9

so that is probably the widest tire possible

not 5zigen or sportmax. the company is called elite. anyway, will a +15 with 255 clear? hmm, it'll be close. but im sure +20 with 255 wont clear (dont see how the bulge would clear the coilover).

you were already considering +20 for the fronts. its just gonna stick out 5mm more.

would this set up work? Sportmax 962's 17x7 ET+40 (fronts) and the 17x9 ET+35 (rears) with Falken Azenis Rt615 215/40-17 (fronts) section width: 8.7" tread width: 7.4" and 255/40-17 (rears) section width: 10.3" tread width: 9.4". i know it's a stagged set up but i've been reading about how hard it is to fit wide rims up front on the S13. so i figured 17x7 with a wide tire would be better than trying to stuff a 17x9 with a skinny tire up in there

it'll fit but it'll look awkward (sunk in front and somewhat flush in rear). regardless of sunk or not, you'd probably be better off with 215/45 17 and 255/40 17 as opposed to the 40 profiles up front. of course, i wouldnt go with those tire options in the first place.

Nope, just a small spacer in the front to clear the shock.

see, that looks nice now but you can't really lower it at all without rubbing. i'm on megan track coils and i just want 0-1/2 inch gap on all corners

You can lower it, you just have to run some negative camber in the front. With lowering it, the rears naturally tuck in a bit too.

okso i want to run fno1rc's on my s14 i want 17x10 in the rear with a 12mm offset the front will either be a 17x8 or 9.5 with a 25 or 35 offset, any suggestions for me?

btw i'm a noob with the wheel offsets, but i want a mean offset with a nice look, thanks.

hey, don't highjack my thread. so are you saying that in theory i might be able to run 17x9 +35's all the way around? with maybe a 255/40? and hey, i don't want to come off as a noob cause i not a noob to the import game at all, this is just my first nissan and a 240 and you guys have some fucked up offsets. coming from a guy who used to have a stage4 03 WRX with 16x8 ET48 wrapped in 245/45-16 at every corner, it was simple all the way around. R.I.P that poor little car, died two days before this past christmas. hence why i'm here now with this cherry (one girl owner since she was 16) bone stock 1989 240sx. so let the games begin..

ehh, it all depends on what you want out of the car. me personally, i could care less about drifting or going sideways or any of that ego stroking tire masterbation. i like to keep it on the road, and grip it through the corners as fast as i can WITHOUT losing traction.

I have searched, a lot about 17x9's actually but never really got any good info on this site about the tire combo I wanted to run on them. I don't know if it's just me coming from a different type of import racing with my wrx over to this 240sx crowd, but man if you've got a 17x9 rim that's 9 INCHES WIDE! put some damn meat on them fuck! all I’ve found on this site is everyone using 215's and 225's on 9's it's pathetic. so, yes man I have searched and no I haven’t found any information on someone running 255/40-17's on 17x9's on a S13. that's why I started this post in the first place. damn I hate it when people just automatically go strait to saying "search, search"
