Hey shoguner, im back from being underway for so long. I have my 1uz out on an engine hoist right now.
how much material did you have to grind from the trans bellhousing what do all the connections to the intake manifold go to i saw you blocked off your ISC so how does the car idle? and got any pics of how you ran your fuel lines? power steering lines and brake booster lines?

How ever thick your adapter plate is. what do all the connections to the intake manifold go to I am not sure what you mean? i saw you blocked off your ISC so how does the car idle? Ya i blocked off my iacv, it went bad anyway. Idles great, just adjust your throttle body so it idles at a decent rpm, you will have to let it warm up before it will do any thing. You might have to keep the throttle open for a few secs upon start up. and got any pics of how you ran your fuel lines? power steering lines and brake booster lines? i will get some tonight. I just grabbed two of the banjo fittings on the back of the intake manifold and put them on the fuel rail, then i ran the pump to one side and the FPR on the other side at 35 or so PSI. power steering line is a custom hose from summit, check this thread out, it is in there somewhere. brake booster goes to the rear of the intake. |

Holy shit guys!!!
Only have to break those rings in and get the hood/fenders bolted down!!! I might aucutally make the event on saturday! Everything is all hooked up. Cranked it with out spark plugs and the fuel pump turned off to prime the oil. She climbed up to 55psi and fell and held at 40psi. I think everything is good to go. I am useing 6qts of rotella 15-40w diesel oil, plus a bottle of lucas zinc adder. As i have read, this is a good way to do it. I will have a video up tomorrow! |

Thanks I figured out the idle as well as the fuel and the other lines. im just waiting on the summit parts..
Fries had them on his page of what parts to get the power steering connected. Ill have to re'look at the idle thing a bit. I have an aftermarket ecu so i could run the stock ISC valve.

So.... Last Tuesday it had 40psi of oil pressure while cranking with no plugs to prime the engine. Wednesday, start it, it has 0 oil pressure (as the gauge says). Take off the sensor, oil pours out while cranking. (Must have oil pressure, right? See video.) Let it idle for 30 mins to seat the rings. Drain oil, put 6 qts and new filter back in. Only got about 5 or so quarts out. So, it had to be pumping oil somewhere. Thursday buy new gauge and sensor. 0 psi still, take off sensor, no oil squirts out. So I took the filter off, and then filled it up about half way. Cranked it, oil pumped out. So take filter off. So, i think air must be pumping? I'm super confused. I'll be taking off the oil pan this weekend or sooner to see if the oil pick up tube has somthing wrong with it. |

Traded the engine swap for a mitata. realized how dumb miatas are. Sold miata. Bought M3. drove m3 for a year. M3 broke. Bough 2014 q50. Lived life for a bit. Then picked up e36 and am now putting a 5.0 in it. |
