so yea, my rear subframe cracked, and we rewelded it a few times....so after cracking again, i decide to drop it to replace it with another one....look what i found;

in this pic, if you look at the bottom(in the distance), the passenger side stud is still in place, thats how the driver side should be....

so yea, any suggestions on how i should fix this?
weld in a steel plate so that i can use the stud as a bolt?

also, i work on my car out of a storage unit, there is no power outlets...
so i cant use my harbor freight welder...

should I call one of those mobile-miller-welding truck guys to try and come tackle it?

Yea, welding is the only way to fix that. I'd maybe do a backing plate with a bunch of rosette welds(drill a hole, weld it up), then put another plate on the bottom to sandwich it up. I think the stock stuff in that area is about 1/8" or just under.

shit thats sucks. and no outlets either? buy one of those 20 ft extensions. if you know how to weld, itll probably be cheaper than calling the mobile guys.

and yeah, welding seems to be your only option.

post update pics of how you fix it in case someone else encounters a similar problem.

yea, its a storage unit, no electrical outlets...dont think a long extension cord would do...This was just suppose to be a simple drop subframe and replace w/ another uncracked one...

another thing i'm thinking about is if all this is worth it...new chassis=mone pit...

and another thing i'm thinking is this all worth it, new chassis=another money pit...

idk if im going to fix it; a local guy offered me a running 5spd s14 for $1500 w/ a/c...so i may pick it up and swap all my parts over, and turn my 1st loved s14 into a missle car...

my current s14 chassis has over 210k miles on it(along with 5yr drift and race abuse); the other s14 offered only has 140k miles and its all stock...

only way is to reweld another plate but i would get the new chassis.

yea, already bought another s14, this car will have to r.i.p. with having over 200k miles on its chassis.
