His turbo is pretty much maxed out, that's why you see it falling off up top. If he put a GTX35r on there it would probably climb all the way to 8700-9k.
What dyno? Can you get the run file?

Falling off like that? He still has over 500whp at 8700. I wouldn't say he's falling off horribly. Torque falls off yes, but that's going to happen with a high strung 4cyl at the limits of Turbo flow.

We are having issues holding boost in the top end (it's dropping 4 psi) that's partially why the power is dropping plus the turbo is only a gtx3076r. 78 twin scroll. I will try to get a run file for you Jr. We aren't done tuning yet though. Going for a 10 second run tonight will keep ya updated.

I'd love for the rain to pass so I can get out to the local 1320 and grab a low 11 pass in my car.

Yeah, the car looks good and seems good man. Definitely keep pushing - lots more to be had under that curve, lots more. Followed your build pretty religiously. I've pretty much gone over everyone's at one point or another.. Can't wait 'til my wallet catches up so I can make the jump.
I don't have the experience of working with a gtx3076r or the monster intake runners of the VE, but I feel like there has to be some remedies to buttoning up that quarter bar decrease in psi? Besides, isn't the gtx3076r considered to have an oversized compressor wheel - that should aid in preventing such a scenario (I might be off base?) Definitely would like claification and guidance for my knowledge. Thanks in advance. |

His GTX is a mid 600hp turbo. Either way, it's a good power curve. I'll be going back soon for some changes to my setup as well.

The Sr20/Sr22vet thread
A GTX3576 would hold power up top with an extremely small increase in lag and better transitional response.
I'm sure the 30R turbine is maxed with a compressor flowing that much air.

Someone on FB has the S362 putting down 730whp on a built rwd VE+T. I'm not sure which cam but prob stock since it peaked 7600ish.

Yeah I thought they were stock the way it peaked so early. They are N1 cams, he thinks the T3 exhaust housing choked it up on the top end.

I'd say there are probably a few things that have choked it up. The exhaust side of the head needs some work to get higher flow numbers from it. Larger valves and some decent port work would uncork it there. A larger turbo would help as well, however sacrificing some lower end power(if you can even call 4.5-5k low). Looks like a decent build.

I'm thinking the bigger exhaust housing prob would have helped. I have seen stock valved heads go to 9k.
67mm BW with a T4. This was on a fwd car but stock valves and N1 cams. But your right I'd give up a little topend to get some low end but 4k is a little high for most people lol.

Finally joining the VE swap crew.
Will be running this on my 10.5:1 compression bottom end with e85 and my EFR7163 turbo. Should make for a very responsive 500whp. Question: I'll be using SR16VE N1 cams in this. With the stock P12 springs and valves, how high can I rev? I'm reading the P12 springs are better than P11 and with the thinner stem valves, that helps revs too. Apparently the N1 cams are profiled for higher revs also, so I'm thinking I might just stay stock and not get the Supertech springs if stock will get me to 8-9k.
