1jz question
Okay so I know I should replace them but I'm cheap. I lost one of my 8 flywheel bolts somewhere. And I have the other 7 if I bought another bolt that's different would it ruin my flywheel? I asked ppl at the auto store and try said that since they don't weigh the same then it might hurt it but I thought I'd ask you guys.

Just get ARP flywheel bolts. Welcome to Driftmotion!
They're stronger than OEM, can be reused and only like $30.00. Or go to a Toyota dealership and buy some, the flywheel bolts between 1J's and 2J's (not sure about 2J's with a V160 though) are the same, I'd imagine they'll have some on the shelf, and if not, they should be able to get them pretty quick. |

Flywheel bolts are a serious thing. It backs off and the flywheel will explode and rip apart the tranny, the cabin floor and cut your legs off and still keep going at people standing near your car, possibly killing someone.
Just get ARP, I forget how much they are but even if its $100, its nothing because you buy it and you forget about, its in there and never worry about it again and re-use them. |
