Valve cover bolts stripped out... HELP
Ok, so my friend has a 92 240. Doesn't even know of Zilvia... weird. Anyway... most of his Valve cover bolts are stripped out. I told him he might want to get a bigger tap and tap new threads.... Any suggestions???
All three bolts on top of the valve cover are stripped... and then about 3 are stripped around the outsides. Last edited by 240silvia; 04-23-2005 at 02:54 PM.. |

that sucks.
get some new bolts from a junkyard. should be really cheap. the 3 in the middle can be taken off with a spiral tap like bolt-out. you can find the taps at sears. for the ones on the side, its going to be trickier because there isnt enough room to get the tap on it. you could try jbwelding a socket head to each bolt and taking it off like that (props go to the jbweld thread ). naturally dont expect to use those heads again. |
