I believe a McLaren F1 oil change is about the same but they fly out to you. The oil is a special synthetic and there's something like 16 quarts in the drysump tank. I think there's also a portable xray of the oil involved as well looking for wear particles. Quite thorough but around the same price.

What alot of ya'll are missing is that this guy is obviously so insanely wealthy that money really is just not an issue to him. Us regular folks think in terms of what process would be the cheapest and easiest and go that route. For someone like him who probably has a garage full of many many more exotics, he tells an assistant what he wants done and they do it. There is no "but sir, it would be cheaper to do it this way.." because it just doesn't matter, the guy probably has no concept of the value of money because it has never ever and never will be an issue its just always there, like breathing air.

so true but so cliche'.
I bet he wipes his ass with hundred dollar bills, and burns u.s currency to heat his home. no matter how much you have someone else will always have more. all i wanna say is good for him, and fuck him at the same time. If you can't hate the uber rich who can you hate? "thank you God for giving everyone else so much and me so little!" |

He's a sheikh, which means hes probably a prince, which means he has oil money.
Do the math. Arab+rich=probable oil money+royalty.

What's the big deal?.. It's not like he chartered the plane just for his Lambo. It was just added in there as extra cargo. There probably arent any Lambo certified techs in bumfuck middle east where he's from, so you gotta take the car to where they are.
Tree huggers just need to stfu and worry more about figuring out a better solution to energy than oil instead of complaining about what people do with their oil money.

If and when Iran floods the market with cheap oil set in Euros there will be a whole lot of trouble for the rest of the middle east and the US.

Dude...he used money to buy oil that he sold to Mobil, or Shell or whatever (even full synthetics use dinosaur oil as a base stock). He used money to fly a plane that uses fuel which is created from the oil that he sold. Whatever the guy does, it's freaking money in the bank.

that aside, I'm betting that the Sheik was infact visiting London as part of his vacation. The oil change prob wasn't the main reason for this fuss. I once took a company trip out to London, and coincidently some wealthy family from the middle east were also staying at the same hotel. They took a few floors of the hotel, family, servants with them, cars as well. All flown in on their own jet. Supposedly, this isn't uncommon in London from what I heard from the hotel staff. But say the sheik did do this for an oil change, so what? It's his $. I see no reason why he can't, in an otherwise democratic society. Ppl need to mind their own business. |
