Suggestions? Ichiba hubs stripped
Hopefully I can describe my issue clearly... As you may know, the lug bolts are able to be pushed out of ichiba hubs. When they are pushed back in, you have to align the vertical treads of the hub and of the bolt all the way thru when putting back on. Noticed yesterday when taking out my lug nuts that the bolt was spinning with the lug nut, luckily, I had power tool to spin it fast enough to loosen off. Looking at the bolt, the vertical treads were still in good condition. Unfortunately, the vertical treads on the hub for that hole is completely stripped. Now, I'm unable to tighten or loosen the lug nut properly. Bolt spins with the lug nut all the time. I have this issue for both front hubs.. 1/5 holes passenger side hub, 2/5 holes driver side hub..
Any ideas of what I can do? Warranties I don't know about? They are like 3 years old btw so I doubt any warranty can help.. Or do I just buy new ones.. Any suggestions would help.. |

Pull the loose studs out and measure the new hole diameter on the back, it's possible you can find replacement studs from dorman's catalog that have a larger spline size but same thread
Edit: you'll want .008" or .2mm larger spline diameter than the hole for correct fit |

Was the stud removed and then put back in? I usually oil up the splines and then draw them in all the way with a lug nut and a set of washers when replacing the studs.
