E-Brake Adjustment Tension

OK, so I'm pretty much tired of how weak my e-brake is. Once upon a time I bought this car for $2000 and it was nice. Then I discovered that one of the e-brake lines was not hooked up to the caliper. The lock plate was just gone. OK, that's fine. I zip-tie it in, but it's just too weak and I want to adjust it to FSM condition. I don't even get tension till 4-6 clicks.

How can I know when there is just enough tension on my e-brake? How can I know that I'm not destroying the cables/calipers? Are there any tips anyone can give me?

Thanks,
RentonD

Under the ebrake handle is a nut. It's a 10mm. Hold the ebrake button and tighten that nut. It add tension as well as lower the handle so it doesn't look like you're stopping a train.

Too much tension will cause your ebrake to be on even if it isn't up.

I believe that is a threaded section on the front. Been a long time since I have had mine apart.

Automatics have "e-brakes". Manuals have parking brakes.

Have a parking brake, like a man.

Just ignore him, its the easiest thing to do with trolls.

IDK if its OER but I believe the one I posted is going to be the same thing as the one you did, just not OEM.
