I just installed my GR+'s two days ago, went through several height adjustments. preloaded 3 full rotations all around. and stiffness is set at 8 all around.

I have the same noise problem, but not so severe. it does it only couple of times and stops. and have the memory steer, but only at low speeds.[30mph and under]

i do notice that some other coilover companies have this rubber bushing that sits in between the spring and perch on top side of the spring to help reduce the noise.

i wonder if that rubber piece could help people out with this noise problem after the replacement parts.

Gah, they sent me an email the same day everyone else got their emails about the new replacement mounts. That was 10/16. Almost two weeks later and no mounts so I emailed them today and they said they had to make new bearings and that mine would ship today. Grr...

Got my GR+ Pros a couple weeks ago which had the black mounts. Only had time to install the front coilovers this weekend because of work and everything but I took it for a test drive and had no ping ping noises or memory steer. I just lubed up top and bottom of the spring with white lithium grease, preloaded them and torqued top nuts to 35lbs.

fucking goddammitt, I waited 2 months for my gr+'s (after all the stellar reviews on zilvia) I ordered from enjuku, and I've messed around with them for ever. I also have the spring sound, and I am going to check right now if they are the good ones or not. Fuck, I am really irritated tht I had to wait 2 months for them and it sounds to me like they're the wrong fucking ones, goddammitt!!!!$1200 for this shit?????Might just swap back to my tokico's fuck

calm down dude...just email stance and see if they'll send u good new ones. Im sure most of the coilovers theyve sold up to this point have had this issue.

yeah, stance was back ordered and mine was made in Oct. and I have the 2/3 camper plate as well. but only the passenger front side makes the noise. I'll get this resolved through Stance after reading all other people's same problems, seems like more then couple of dozens of us are having the exact same issue.

I had my mount sent to me fast and also one of the mount didnt align well with the camber plate so i asked them to send me another one and it came in like a week later. So my advice to you guys are to be patient and just email them and tell them your problem. My coilovers are really good now no more noise except for my tension rod(stock) and also no more memory steering. Well just ask them for the golden mount both half and full moon shape are working now. I know that because like i said i asked for one replacement on the mount and they gave me a whole circle instead of the half one like my other one. I tried them both and they both worked. My question to you guys is how to set the preload so my car stop being so bouncy when i drive over like ripples of cracks. I know it suppose to be bouncy but my car is like riding a horse if you run over constant little bumps. PLZ GIVE ME SOME ADVICE ON THIS.

It's been about a week now with the new gold mounts and they're still going strong. No noises. I think this issue has finally been resolved *knock on wood*

My setup is not bouncy at all. In fact it's one of the most comfortable yet stiff coilovers I've ever ridden in.

This is in comparison to ksport and megan coilovers which have extremely harsh and "rough" feeling IMHO. <-- Those "BOUNCE" like crazy even when you run over something as small as a pebble.

10K front springs
8K rear springs
6 clockwise clicks for front shock
6 clockwise clicks for rear shock
no preload (hand tightened)

ok calm now, I will email/call stance and ask them kindly to send out the replacement, yesterday I wanted to rip their fucking heads off, but now I'm cool calm collective, Yeah I got the black mounts, so I'll ask for the replacement, I assume it's a quick fix right?Memory steer and noise gots to go.....by the by, is there a thread on how to 'prep' you're car for a lower stance?i.e. take off fender lining, skid plates? the only scraping I have is getting into my driveway that a pow, pow, powerwheels would have no problem on. I scrape the exhaust piping and rub on the wheel wells.ok I'm done now

I just did this the other day, lowered it more, and I have no rubbing at all on full lock (including with steering spacer).

do you guys find rotating the pillowball by hand is a lot easier? i stick a screwdriver in there or rachet and rotate it. still takes a bit of force but much easier than the old ones.

did you guys drive around a bit to get them loosened up? or where they loose right out of the box?

yeah, much easier to move by hand, and mine were easy out of the box.

This thread is a good read... mine were super tight out of the box, and I definately get pinging noises here and there. Didn't realize it was a problem - but after reading this thread it all makes sense. I'm going to contact stance soon and try to get a replacement.

Does Stance ask you to send the old top mounts back?

that's probably b/c they wanted to inspect and identify the old mounts. i think im one of the first to receive the replacement mounts.

the package they sent me had a pre-paid label inside the box to send the old mounts back.

I don't drive my car much and was going to look after this over the winter. I will give Stance a call as well. I don't see them having a problem replacing inoperable equipment.

Hell I have to order new rear bottoms anyway.

Hey i have been having the same problem, i finally fixed it today.

Heres what i did.

First day i got them, installed them right away and got those spring moving noises. I fiddled around with it, and realized that it was the top part of the spring wasn't moving with the shock. So i lubed it up with wd-40 and it helped a little bit, then i got the same noise but just a little softer. I then looked at my friends coilovers on his s14. He has nismos and his spring perch lock had a indent in it to prevent the spring to move. Which then made it clear that it was the indent stance doesn't have. I also checked his pillow mount bolt ( 21mm ) on how much it was torqued, and it was around 18 LBs. So i loosened mine and the spring moving noise went away. Then I heard another sound, so i knew it was somethign to do with the pillow mount. It only came from the passgener side now. I had no preload on the spring when i toqued the 21 mm nut down to 55lbs of torque, then compressed the spring 2 full turns ater 0 preload. Both problems of spring making noise and the pillow mount hitting the shock tower had gone. I just did this today and hopeuflly it will be fixed!

wow, good thing i read this thread. hmm, makes me think twice about going w/ stance... seems like too much trouble to deal with.

very dissappointing to hear about all these issues and problems. i heard alot of good things about them. a buddy of mine just ordered a set, with no issues at all.

like many others, i am glad too see that stance is willing to fix the problem, however, i really don't have time to deal w/ having to wait for upper mounts.

can anyone verify if stance has corrected the issue on recently manufactured units?

i would hate to order, wait for them, then have to send back the mounts only to have to wait for another set of mounts to come.

it just seems like a risky proposition. a bit too hit and miss for me.

will have to really consider before ordering.

Not too sure I got my coilovers which came with the black mounts a couple weeks back. So I called and asked them to send me the replacements and they said some of them work and some of them dont. I was like wtf!! Well I installed it anyway and miraculously it worked!!

Give them a call and see if they are installing the new mounts on the newer sets. If not, ask them to send in the new mounts in with the now coils.
