im not seeing it man. i've never seen any manufacturer have to add anything to the wheel to make it stronger or something wierd like that to achieve a lower offset. would yuri care to step in on this one?

total speculation, but here goes.
the middle of the hoop is pretty thin while the bead seats are thicker. if you attach the spokes in the middle, you'll have to beef it up a little. or if you use the same design for the wheel at different offsets, the pad will be thicker and require more material. both of which add more weight. it's pretty minimal and really could go either way, but in general, it's probably true.

haha I love how everything becomes a big argument... jeez I was just asking a simple question...
but this is what I was talking about.. Is it that difficult to pull off this look with s2000's? That looks flush... while this next one isn't that flush in my opinion It does look nice but not flush. Please remember, this is pure curiosity... no more fighting... pictures are good though

The above picture you posted, only like 2 guys in the world (that I've seen at least) have fitment like that. Apparently most owners look down upon that kind of fitment, difficult though? Probably not

haha yea... That's what I was trying to get at (i guess, not even sure myself.. lol)
anyways, If I had a s2k, I would track that guy down and see what it took to get fitment like that... I dunno, I guess owning a s-chassis made me a wheel fitment whore in a sense... my car isn't uber flush or anything... basic 17x9/10 on my car... but i definately dig the look on all cars now... so whenever I see any car with wheels, I judge it on flushness... haha is nobody else like that?!?!?

If its one thing about S2000 customers that I know, is that they are more careful (like my NSX customers) about buying stupid shit that NEGATIVELY effects their cars already good performance. Which, is something I cannot say about 240 owners.. who are typically guilty of doing too many mods that fuck up their overall performance. Like i said.... |

Well, I did say the car looked nice. I just think a lot of s2ks could look *nicer* if the wheels were a little more flush. I'm not one of those guys who thinks only negative offsets are flush, or whatever, but everybody has their own definition for "flush".

Who cares about the offsets.
S-chassis owners are offset whores b/c we can fit wheels with big width and low offsets under our fenders, if an S2k or Subaru tried that they would be sticking out two inches all around. Would you rather a 7JJ with a +10 offset or 9JJ withe a +35 offset. Because they would need a 7JJ in order to run offsets so low. Doesnt mean they suck at fitment, just means good fitment for them is different than good fitment for us. 18x9.5 +30

Not really an issue. We haven't really done any S2k fitments, but I have researched them, and 8" +30 and 9" +30 seems to make a lot of S2k owners happy. |

wow... suddenly I've grown a new spot in my heart for s2k's... <3 <3
but most newer cars nowadays are rockin higher offsets... iirc, the lexus IS's are also rockin higher offsets whats horrible is seeing s-chassis rockin ap1 oem wheels :-X (I have a particular white s14.5 in mind, lol, I will not mention any names tho)

whats with all the fighting?
anyways i don't see anything wrong with these s2k's. I mean the wheels fit and it doesn't look stupid right? Most s2k guys i know like to autoX only and its a different culture from us nissan guys(NOT the tuner culture =P). I dunno, but to me these cars look great and you can see the owner's individualism in each car as well |
