I don't mind them. I have one. It's one of those things where you can't give a shit what people think.

whoever owned my car before me installed a short shift kit, and i hated it.. it felt sh*tty trying to get it into first, and it just wasnt nice and smooth shifting..
once i installed my dildo knob, all those problems went away.. plus, i always get strange looks from people, then i get to say "all the girls LOVE my knob" - it gets a laugh 1/10 times.. i'll take it.. |

I have the B&M short shifter and I have a 6inch acrylic shift knob it makes it feel like a long throw and good for drifting when i need to shift. It was also hard to go into gears sometimes.

Ive always used the dildoknobs for the most part. its just a personal preference based off style not function.
I could give a crap less how it performs as long as I look cool hard parked and in pics.

The bubble knob with a b&m short shifter for the s13 has a great feel. Good leverage and shifting comfort. They tend not to heat up on hot days, or freeze up on cold days. Had one for a year before i sold my car. It never broke. I recommend it. |

question, (noob here) what exactly is the hype with weighted knobs, I've been working with the stock one perfectly fine (just a daily thing, no real racing). what exactly do they do?

I actually have a use for mine... I use my center console as a cup holder, and most of the time the cup is way taller than the shifter and is on the way, so a taller shifter fixed my "problem"

I own one of those shift knobs. but when i go drifting i trow in the stock one...
Alot of people may not like the style of it, just like when people do sticker overlays of cheeta, leopard, zebra etc...My fiberglass bumper had nasty cracks from the bottom so what i did was i wrapped it with leopard tape. why? you see, I am the type of person that is fed up with all this new bullshit ass music..and rock never gets old. I am into hair metal. Motley Crue, Pantera, Twisted sisters etc...and the whole 80s look in which rockers had leopard skin stiched to their pants and all that..so which is why i like thiis type of trend...I actually have a reson not just cause its "cool"
