I'll admit he made a newbie move with the "drift style"... anyone who's read a decent number of threads in the chat area should know better, but jesus, it's like you people have nothing better to do that sit in joyful anticipation for the next zilvia newbie to say something dumb/unfounded/improper/mis-informed.

When I first came here years ago, it was the atmosphere and the helpful people that made me want to check it several times a day. Everyone helped everyone, and newbies were NICELY and helpfully shown the error of their ways when necessary. It's quite clear that the new way for members to feel like they belong is to belittle people.

You know what? that shit doesn't fly in real life, and it should here either. One of the biggest failings of the internet and forums is that it gives every posturing self-absorbed jackass an inflated sense of "bravery" and big headedness. EVERYONE is guilty of this at some point, the key is taking the high road and rising above. I don't see that here at all. Even the mods are guilty of it at times. I've read several thread about the "downfall of zilvia" and I guess I"m just fanning the flames; but seriously this belittling holier-than-thou attitude has got to stop or you're just proving all the other forums that talk smack about zilvia, correct. We really ARE becoming self-righteous, snobby-yet-cheapskate keyboard bullies.

Sorry to thread hijack, but this shit really does need to stop.

Joeman: be really careful how you use the word "drift" here, most zilvians are jaded on the word as the drift trend in the US slowly becomes more and more bastardized by commercialism and the american mentality of form before function. The hipposleek kit you like is very nice, well constructed and tasteful. This means that companies like GTP and such will eventually make lesser quality knockoffs. You can settle for that, or have one imported from Takakaira.com (you'll have to call, not just peruse the website) or some other import specialist company.

Joe, I have nothing against you. I say darwinism because it really is that. How did you become interested in the 240sx? Was it DRIFTING? Everyone at Zilvia does not DRIFT. This has been a long standing 240sx community long before the 240sx was associated with drifting. Maybe you didn't find your new found interest in the 240sx with DRIFTING. Either way, you will soon learn quickly how things are at Zilvia. Everyone may pounce on you in this thread, but eventually, you'll see why. We have loads of info to offer, but there's a certain way things work here. That's one of the main reasons why this site has not turned into DRIFTING.COM. That's why I call it Darwinism. Welcome to ZILVIA.

ok.. "Drift Style" can be referred to the recent trend of japanese bodykits and thier "flared lip" styling now,.. like how alot of BN SPorts type kits can be scene on alot of jdm drift cars, esp D1.
