starting issues help me out

hey guys just hoping i can get a clue as to whats going on.

The starter in my ca18det went out so i for a new one from a fellow zilvian and what do you know the car starts up. The thing is after one start it would not start. I made sure my battery was good and even bought a new one and now its weird because it will start sometimes and other times nothing. The alternator is charging the battery also, what do you guys think just some loose/bad wiring

Bad wiring could do it. I know with most starters, if they're failing, you can hit them with a hammer if it's not cranking and it'll work. That just means you're going to need a new one very soon.

Maybe the one you got is on it's way out. That's not to say the person who sold it to you knew. They probably didn't. Anything's possible.

Starter relay.

It is a blue relay between the stock battery location and the fender.

Check and replace it.

Double check that all the connectors to the starter itself are clean and firmly attached. My SR was having the same problem, and I finally checked the wire that bolts from starter to the solenoid and it was filthy, I cleaned all the contacts and it works fine now.
Corrosion happens in places you least suspect.
Hope that helps

Did you check the starter relay?

Unplug the big blue relay between the stock battery location and the fender.

Then jump the connector with the thicker wires with eachother; so pretty much make a, "U" with a paperclip.

After that, try to start it.
