Damnbump~ As for converting to RHD I would recommend you buy an entire clip to convert rather then cutting the firewwall. You run into safety issues when you cut the FireWall. When we convert to RHD we use the entire clip and use the OEM weld spots to reattache the car as a whole. I have several bare clips avail with all the necessary part to complete a swap easily and quickly. Better yet send us your car and we'll have your car done is less then 2 weeks full JDM spec.. I am askig $350+shipping for the entire bare clip.."frame only"

David,
I want to get some pricing info from you. My S13 project looks like its falling through, so I need to start anew. The previous car had Silvia panels, but this one is going to need them. Basically, I need an entire S13 front clip--engine/tranny as well as body panels (and dash/steering if possible for the RHD conversion). The new project shell is auto, so I need everything to convert to manual (which is all contained within the clip, right?). Redtop is fine, and I want straight body panels if possible. Also, are the intercooler (side-mount) and downpipe included with the clip? I guess, basically what I'm asking is, can I drop it in and drive off, or do I need anything else? I won't be getting this until the car I have now is gone (about a month), but I will be able to put down a deposit in cash or pre-pay when I decide on this (less than a month), if that makes any difference in price, and price is a pretty important factor . I'm "just up the street" from you in the San Fernando Valley. how much does "local" delivery usually run? Also, since I haven't dealt with this yet, how simple/complex would it be for the shadetree mechanic to do a RHD conversion on his own (as you can see, I'm trying to avoid installation costs)? Thanks

chokudoriS13~ As far as Rhd conversions. please read a couple of previous replies in regards to this question. Bascially, everything you need to convert to Rhd will be included on the full clip... Again,it's all dependant on which clip is avail at the time you are ready to buy.. I currently have a list of people who have deposited and will have the opportunity for first picks when the containers are unloaded....
For a DIY mechanic, it's very involved to successfully convert to RHD.. There are many safety issues involved when converting... The most important factor is to preserve the OEM crumple zones in case of an accident... We offer conversion service and install of all JDM motors.. Please let me know if you have any further questions. David

Dave, Im doing the swap real soon, looking for a good SR motor that comes with uncut harness and ECU.. The price as you said is about $1,900-$2,700, so what makes the difference in price? Im in New York Area, I was gonna get one from Heavythrottle.com, but they dont have any in stock now because of the dock strike. I'd make all kind of payment as long as i can get the best deal. Please give me a quote the shipping. My zip is 11717

Davies, you rock!
Insurance money rules. Along with the front end swap, I had to do a partial frame swap because of the 240's front end damage. Five hours of cutting/drilling/welding. Not fun.

May I ask how much you charge for the S13 RHD conversion??
I was thinking about doing the conversion myself, but was also concerned about the firewall cutout/safety issues... so I may as have a professional do the job right! Also, although you're using the OEM weld spots to reattach the whole front, does cutting and rewelding affect the structural integrity of the chassis?? Thanks! |

JVH22a~ At the moment I have one Silvia convertion avail. Please call me direct for more info. I am told by our suppliers that our next shippment will have over 10 complete silvia clips.
TheDorfitas~ The price varies with each conversion. With regards to the integrity of the car by re-welding. I am told that the car is acutually stronger since along with the spot weld's we complete the seam with a full weld. Many chasis tuning shops use this method on race cars. It's simply much stiffer and rigid. NismoGear5~ My number is 714.713.1749 please call me for avail.. David N.

I've pulled the engine and wire harness from the clip. Just getting all the details sorted out on the install. The clip was an obvious drift car. When I pulled the clutch I found a roasted flywheel and pressure plate, and a brand new stock clutch disk (Painted numbers were not even worn off the facing yet). Looks like they slid backward into something pretty hard cause it broke the trans mount. I've kinda reached a standstill while I look around for these parts. If all you're waiting for is the IC, don't bother. I'll probly just go with the Blitz LM kit. Thanks for the support.

Crab spirits~ your clip was prolly one from the Option D1 drift competition cars that made it's way to the US... Lemme know what parts you need and i'll send them to you. If I have the parts it's FREEE!!!!!. As for the clutch you recieved it's simple just have the flywheels and pressure plate resurfaced and your good to go... Lemme know if there is anything else you need to complete your swap..
David

S13Freeaak~ I am still expecting our second "mystery" shipment.. It will have 7 redtops 4 blacks and 2 s14's.. I have several people who have paid in full for the clips and will have prime choice of the clips.. Please reserve yours asap..
Nokuntrol~ At the moment we do not accept credit card payments.. we can do a paypal payment if you wish.. As for the unbeatable no interest, you might consider taking a cash advance on your card...and still not pay any interest... Give me a call and we'll see how we can work something out.. if you can get a very competitive offer on the ca18 det engine or front clip, I would be interested.. you said if you got enough offers you might be able to get it- well my engine is on the high side of 155k and is going the way of the crapper. I'm thinking about dropping a fuel cell and limited slip in and then just running the shit out of it till it blows up, then buying a ca18det with student loan money and hooking my car up.
irresponsible sure, but after lawschool I'll be 50k in debt either way, so 1k doesn't make much difference. I know its possible to get the ca18det clips here for cheap- I've seen low mileage engine/tranny/ecu combo's go for under 800..... so if you could get the clip here for 1000 or at least under 1200 you would be a hero. |

Bayarea240~ We have recieved shipments of some SR motors but are sold out.. Our most recent shipment was only Honda's.. Andrave~ They are all "OEM" S13 rear diffs. We sometimes find KAAZ or Cusco clutch type hidden in the pumpkins.. They are direct bolt on affairs for S13 and S14's .. I also have the some rear subframe sets with the thicker drive shafts.
