Oil Filters?
Ok heres the situation, me and a buddy changed the oil in my s13 last night, (i have a broken hand so i cant do it by myself) before we changed it he made me go get a nipon oil filter which cost 4.95 + tax. I said to him dude does it really mater? why cant i just use a different brand? He went off saying that nipon only!! and wouldnt stop.
My question is, does it mater which oil filter you use? Yes? Then what one do you prefer. Note, engine is KADE |

remember there is a reason why the manufacturers chose that filter. Purolator used to be good but the size of them decreased.

OEM=Original Equipment Manufacturer. In this case that would be Nissan. So you can buy it at the Nissan dealer.

Fram X2 & Fram Extended Guard are the best of the fram lineups. Compareable to Mobil1 and Purolator in construction and design. Motorcraft FL-400S (oversized), Purolator 20195 (oversized)
All good filters Motorcraft is the cheapest one. wal mart stocks them |

For my KA I used the OEM because I didn't care.
On my SR I use K&N because I work here, I know our shit rocks, (better than Mobil 1 some cases), and the nut on top makes changing that SR oil filter 100x easier. But FRAM? NEVER. It's made out of recycled junk mail. |
