Black roof s14
Im about to paint my car flat black because of a body kit, some rust, and a new fender. I hit a lot of stuff so flat black is my best bet to not pay that much for a scratch or some dumbass at the high school scratching my car. The top of my car is black and its in really good condition so im just wondering where you black top guys start painting off on the bottom where it connects to the quarter panel. Or if you guys have any tips anything helps.
Or does it just look really shitty on an s14 because i've seen some s13 and they dont look that bad but the s14 that i see like that have really nice paint jobs. |

I know it's a different car...
but this weekend, on pimp my ride, they painted an old police issue crown vic in a two tone black roof with a gold/yellow bottom. I personally think it looked real sweet. I guess it depends on what color you're matching the black roof with. I'd go with a pretty opposing color, something brighter probably. As far as where to make your paint lines...be creative. Anywhere towards the bottom of the A/B/C pillar would be fine.

Thats what im looking for. Thanks. But yeah after seeing this only colors that are more colorful would look alright at the half bottom. Its worth a try though just to test it out until i have enough money for a paint job.

he wasnt talking about your picture. He was talking about another post that someone said he bondo'ed his holes shut. I looked at first too! lol your car is too clean to have bondo in the spoiler holes.
i think next you should paint your housing black and then do an HID conversion!

my old S13 hatch was flat black with a glossy roof. i liked the look but the s13 has a clear division for the roof and the body. also the upper part of the body was mostly glass so the gloss paint actually blended better than flat would have. sorry, i don't have any pictures handy.

Ah man you got my hopes up with that s13. Got anymore pics?!? I was making my trunk wingless and i stoped right there because i love how black looks on my s14 and didnt want to ruin it.
As for the trunk im gonna start looking for a wingless one i've spent too much bondo and the other kind of bondo working on it and countless hours trying to get it perfect. Instead of wasting more money im just going to buy a damn wingless trunk. Bondo is the shittiest thing ever i hate it. |

sorry thats the only pic i have where u can see the roof good. personally i love black roofs on s14's, but i dont think it would look best flat black. somethin like blue red yellow to make it stand out will look much nicer imo.

This car belongs to Terry (aka AkumaS14).
Just follow the bottom weather moulding around the rear windshield and follow it to the side window's weather moulding.

i think a gloss black roof, and a flat black paint wont go together well. IF you're gonna go black roof, get the bottom painted to contrast (I think white looks teh best)

imo i think its gay to not paint down onto the fenders and the trunk.
the car has a natural body line where the sides roll up onto the top horizontal surfaces of the car. you should use that line as a breaking line. mostly it seems that people break it at the hood (no front fenders) and also around the rear window. seriously i dont have any pics to show you but i can tell you from experience with r/c car bodies (not the same but close enuf) and also seeing other cars in real life, that breaking it along a natural body line is gonna look MUCH better. then again if you pain on the fenders (front) and you jack them you're gonna WISH that you had broken it at the hood so you could just replace the fenders, and not have to worry about getting the black on the top of the fenders right. so i say paint down to the tops of the fenders....you'll like it |

I've seen the that green Turtle Wax s14 w/ s15 front end with a full carbon fiber half from the top of the fenders up and it dosent look bad but i think it wouldnt flow that good.
