Amen.. Jay summed it up. We're throwing this event which is a practice drift session, not a side show for ride-a-longs. The only way to get better is to not get distracted trying to show your friends how sweet you can drive. I think that's what an exhibition is for. Anyways, hope to see and meet you guys out there, whining or not. Hopefully the latter.

You know half of drift events is going nutz and bustin doughnuts cuz for once in your life you don't have to worry about getting busted for having fun. It is for me at least.

I know he was joking right? You should obviously know the answer to that question, but just in case you are looking for an official answer:

We will not allow any body parts to be outside of the vehicle while on track. This includes your hands/arms/feet/anything. If you are caught doing any of this stuff you will be removed from the event without refund.

As for whether or not there will be a skidpad, we are still deciding on that (it is more of a location on the track situation since the skidpad was removed during renovation). I do think we will have an area on track for novices to practice their donuts though as there are quite a few novices at the event.

Sorry Erika! I'll send you all the info now... but in short it was just saying:

*No BBQ's
*Arrive ON TIME
*No Passengers other than other drivers or the instructors
*No Tandem Practice at this event
*Please clean up after yourself

But I will forward you all of the emails sent out at your new email address.

FYI, there's no room to practice donuts on the new track layout. However there is a small S turn where the old skid pad used to be, but I doubt people will want to practice on that.

doin a rodeo drift is kinda hard considering that the gas pedal is so far away on LHD car... thats why its so easy to do it on a RHD car... but what ever.... keep the sideshows in oakland...dont fuck it up for everyone else..

I've been there... there is enough room to practice donuts unless you're trying to do some feint initiation into them... even then you would be able to in certain areas of the track. It's pretty wide though not as wide as some of you are used to on the old skidpad. We'll make a decision soon.

No I am not joking, ncda used to let people do rodeo. It was a legit question. A big part of drifting IS showing off and making it exciting for spectators. Last I heard tennis shoes with graff on them were not a part of drifting.

First of all we are not the NCDA, so please don't associate any of their allowances or rules and regulations with our events.

Second, we understand what drifting offers when it is a show/exhibition/competition etc. This event is none of those. It is an open practice day for you and the other drivers to practice in a safe environment on track.

I think you will find the "S Curves" to be more fun than a donut would be. It is pretty tight and requires good throttle and steering control. If you wanna do donuts, go to an intersection in Oakland.

Yes the s turn area seems to be good for beginners. The only thing i would consider is that there is a wall right at the entry of the s turns. Either way there should be enough track for everyone to play around.

ncda never allowed it, although some people may have bent the rules, there was still a no rodeo policy. I remember for the longest time, Don, wouldn't let anyone do that stuff in the skid pad.

Thanks for the clarification. I hope everyone understands that we are going to be strict about the rules and if you break them you will be removed from the event without refund. AMP staff/security and the local authorities will be watching the event so we need to make sure this goes down as a successful event. It will help all orgs to host events at the track including NCDA if we can show them that we are the same guys that will attend NCDA events etc.
