ya..i wanted to do a s15 front end conversion on my s13 and i just got the question hanging in my thoughts..how am i going to pass this car in inspection..especially when i want to get the radiator core support and get that put in.then im definitely not going to be able to swap back to factory lights.i wanted a classy, neck breaker daily driver. So does everybody here in the community just have their cars for just track and show? Are there any daily drivers out there that find a way through it?

Not every state has inspections...wait why are you tripping about the radiator core support??? You can use your stock ones, you just have to hack it a bit to make room for the rear of the S15 headlights...

I also had that in mind that every state doesnt have to have inspection.im just wondering in states like nj how do people pass their inspection.Do you really need to know someone on the inside just to pass?I just have alot more to learn about it..i didnt know that you dont have to hack the old one for the s15 core support.ey whatever can save me some more money..im glad to hear the ideas.I just want to do a project the right way you know.so when i seen that it was recommended to weld in a new core support i just figured thats how everyone does it.But you are right..i seen a tutorial of a s15 conversion and the guy didnt use a new core support. But to me it just seemed like he had a hard time adjusting everything into place without a new core support.thanks for the info..you gota excuse me for my newbness.. |

We all drive non-registered/non-insured track cars and never have to worry about inspections. Some of us are shady and bribe the smog guy to pass the car. JDM motors won't usually pass visual inspection, one reason being they do not use an EGR which is a federal mandate. Some states have more lax smog laws than others, but for the most part, you're either going to have a ridiculously difficult time smogging your car and/or going to be spending 3-4 times the cost of a regular smog to have it done illegally.
