The '91 MR2 was prior to the suspension redesign and thus was snappy as hell. Many a pre-redesign SW20 was lost to insane snap-over. If you modify it to lessen the snappiness, it's a very good handling car and can be fast, too.

for more information on the mr2 check out http://www.mr2oc.com/
But I've been in 2 turbo 91 MR2's (1 j-spec engine and modded; the other us- spec and stock) They are awesome cars, NA's are just as fun to from what I've heard.

N/A are fun, my buddy has one. he had a 240sx since he started driving, and now 5 years later he got an MR2, after running his 240 into the back of a chem lawn truck. HAHA!
Lets just say, he calls me up sometimes just to drive my car...he misses it. But the MR2 is fun in its own way.

I have a 91 turbo... great cars. Especially if you're into gripping. The biggest issue is that it's a pain in the ass to work on. Prepare to be sore, and prepare to spend a lot more time on relatively simple jobs.
And also if you're getting a 91, get ready for all the issues that come along with the higher mileage cars, particularly the turbos. Definitely check out board.mr2oc.com and do a search... there's TONS of threads on "should I get an mr2" style topics. |
