Hey guys sorry for asking this but I'm kinda pissed at this.
I was driving to pick up my brother who was too drunk to drive himself home, I was on my way and right in the intersection a speeding camera flash or red light camera. The light was green. The posted speed limit was 40, my speedometer maybe reads a little bit higher or lower, at how many mph above the speed limit will the camera flash? I always go the speed limit cause there's so many cameras there.

Any help on this please?

well it could of happened to the other direction. we have alot of cameras here too. it usually flashes when u pass the line when the light turns into a late yellow/early red light.

the cameras can also tell ur speed limit. just see if they send u info bout it. happened to my car before... i wasnt even driving nor i was in a car. lesson learned dont let ur friends drive ur car down the street lol

If the car I'd under ur name then they will send u the bill. If it's under ur brothers name it will b the same. Some cameras don't get mug shots. On the plates n car.

The camera only goes off during red light violation.

Some lights can go off for no reason; local one does this fairly often.

I wouldn't worry about it. Probably another car that set it off.

Truck is registered under parents name...
I am worried cause I only have my permit. Could've been another car the camera flashed and it seemed like it was too late for it to catch my front plate but my face it probably got... I heard the ticket is around 400+ strapped for cash so thats a lot... I guess I'll just have to wait until it gets here see what I can do then.

they like to rape us with these cameras disregarding the fact that traffic accidents have went up 28% on the intersections they added the cameras.

the traffic accident increase is from people who assume everyone is gonna go through a yellow, and not slow down and stop like they should.. if everyone slowed on a yellow there wouldnt be any accidents... maybe people should be more careful?

i actually don't mind the few that we have around the city. they cut down on bullshit.
i don't like the principle, but i like the results. i'd rather they weren't there, though.

Hwy 18 and 7th street going towards the freeway. I was on the right lane when it happened.
I was driving with just my permit with no one accompanying me, will I loose my permit?
Also, since truck under parents name, do they have to say it was me that was driving? I was reading online that they dont have to give up the name of the person driving the vehicle at the time the camera got it.

EDIT: Hwy 18-D street and 7th St going towards the freeway.

^^^All the accidents and close calls i have seen is because people run red lights because they are not paying attention, not because they are trying to blaze through a yellow.

OP, i believe the lights are just for red light violations. My brother recieved one because he didnt make a complete stop before making a right turn. At least in stockton, i have gone sometimes 10+ miles over speed limit with nothing. Just problems with making a riht turn.

What is this thread for? You don't even have a ticket yet. Some redlight cameras flash constantly to capture images.. Wait to see if you get a ticket, then plead not guilty and you'll be fine. Though you probably should have been accompanied by someone not drunk so you may want to leave that part out...

i do not think it is for speeding.
they also have a officer sit there and review all of the violation to determine if it is true red light violation or accident. the light could go off for other dude

I'd just wait for a ticket to come in the mail.. If the vehicle is under your parents name, thats who the ticket is coming for. They have no idea that you were driving or who was driving for that matter so they just send the ticket to the registered owner.

Now, if your parents decide to rat you out when they show up for Court.. Thats another story. Lol.. Good Luck man

Most red light cameras around my area take pictures as you're going through the intersection whether the light is green or not. I haven't gotten a ticket yet.

if it's under your parents name. have your dad/mom send in saying it's not them. my brother has like three speeding tickets in my dads cars. one of the cars is actually his ( co-sign ). my dad sent in picture proof it wasn't him, and didn't turn his own son in

it also depends on when the camera was installed. they had just installed mine for like a month and i was on my way to get my bro from H.S. the light had turned green for us and right before we got onto the street the car in front of me stopped and some jackass kids decided to WALK across the street and then i got the flash

a week later i got a notice in the mail for the violation; however, it was just a warning, but the next time would be an X amount

I got flashed sunday, and the ticket still hasnt come I'm hoping it comes after I get my lisence haha feb 12, I still have my permit because I decided to drive without it or any form of lisenced driving because I was dumb n stuff. I got my truck, I got my permit so if I can get a lisence I drive around everywhere without fear of getting pulled over. I didnt do that before cause I knew my s13 wouldn't make it far...

If I did get flashed for me, the truck is under my dads name, he just sends the ticket back and a picture of himself showing its not him and I'm in the clear?

the ticket usually comes in the mail with your vehicle/license plate/ and mug shot. If the mug isn't your dad...send it in with a copy of the registration showing your dad is the driver..not a teenager.

yeah i couldve been another car..i was driving through an intersection once and it flashed, i got scared for a sec cuz i was about 8mph below speed limit and it was green...eventually nothing ever came in so just wait and see bro
