JDM Business card tray install *EDIT W/ IMAGES*
So I bought a JDM K's aero gun metal A/C trim with business card tray and I decided to install it against my better judgment, I read all the installs around and they all involve beating up or drilling into your dash support bar. I didnt like any of these ideas as that bar also provides crash support in the event of a side impact.
So using my better judgment and my ability to reverse engineer I said Fu%k it Ill beat the ever living snot out of the bar till it fits. So over the course of 24 hours I installed the trim and tray, the following is as much a story as it is an install. Step 1 Remove A/C trim carefully with flat head screw driver Step 2 Go ahead and remove the radio and radio trim as well as the climate control Step 3 Get a big ass hammer Step 4 start beating the ever living S^&t out of the dash support bar, in the correct areas of course Step 5 Get a beer you have earned it Step 6 Continue beating the ever living snot out of that bar Step 7 Secretly cry after beating the snot out of your hand with a 5 pound ball pien hammer Step 8 Have a smoke Step 9 Test fit the New trim and tray Step 10 Continue beating the crap out of that Fing bar Step 11 Repeat steps 9 and 10 Step 12 Rejoice it fits Step 13 re-install all the parts you removed Step 14 Convince your girl friend to come out into the 110 degree heat to check out your brand new..... Business card holder????? WTF! Smile proudly with your brand new JDM goodies, I also installed a Nismo S15 front upper strut bar at the same time. Dont say I never contributed to the forum, happy drives everyone. Sincerely Alex R. Last edited by rbpwrd240; 06-28-2011 at 09:13 AM.. |
