someone at q45.org did a rb25 tranny swap with the vh45 so it's legal. It's an older car and a tranny swap would be necessary, two of which you said you didn't want, but I thought it was pretty cool.

IS3's aren't bad at all for drifting. I completely enjoyed mine and I was super surprised at how easy it was to get loose and keep control. It was nearly as easy as my S14 that had a 2 way, but ofcourse the IS3 is quite underpowered. Mine had full exhaust, headers, sway bars and coilovers. Ebrake, clutch kick, ebrake, clutch kick, ebrake, clutch kick. Shit was nuts! I miss the comfy DD lifestyle it gave me too. The torsen LSD was surprisingly pretty kick ass.
2nd day I owned it haha. Plus they look pretty damn good when done up right. There's a ton of better examples of what you can do with those.

the other big thing to consider is aftermarket support/availability of parts too! Many people would love to get out of s-chassis, but for some, it's just not economical to do so. I know I have somehow invested/acquired too much to just step away from my s-chassis and build something new that I have NO parts for. To the OP: Your best bet may just be to wait a few more years until c33's are easy to import and then just swap everything from your s-chassis into one of those and have a kick-ass 4dr!

Side-by-Side Comparison that should be the only website you really need to check the fuel economy, and if you compare it to the gs/ls you're getting wayyyyyy more performance for only slightly worse city mpg highway mpg is rated at 24 mpg where as those lexus's are 21 at best? i still don't get the whole worrying about gas mileage if you're comparing it to just as heavy lexus's with way less power/performance for the buck |

but i never said i was comparing it to any lexus at all. i was just zeroing in on the fact that you suggested a G8 for drifting. i mean also thats different viewpoints. if you think 13mpg is only slightly worse then i wont argue that, thats what you think and i respect that...but personally i think thats a notable difference. i just dont think a G8 is a car to start drifting in. and of course your getting way more performance, its a 6.0L lol compared to like a 3.0L. a IS300 with a 1JZ or 2JZ swap even will run you less than dumping $40k into a brand new car if you REALLY want a 4 door drift car and it would fair pretty well. i think at least, correct me if im wrong. |

i guess to throw in some others in the mix that we do have over here, the infiniti Q45, J30, M35, Bmw 3 series sedans, 5 series, i guess the rx8 is a mix but i'd classify it as more of a coupe, if you're a baller the is-f but only comes auto, ugh i guess we need more performance sedans

E36 and E46 sedans are plentiful, pretty cheap, and the parts that matter are reliable. E36 M3 sedans are under 10k with higher miles, and I'm not sure about the E46s off hand but I'd imagine you can find some sedans for pretty cheap, although no E46 M3 sedan exists. Can't argue with a nice NA straight 6, they're smooth and make okay power. Electronics will break, but if this is gonna be a drift car too I doubt you care.

Okay so for sure I am getting another car and am considering the is300 5spd.
I'd figure I slap on a 2way and some suspension. Does anyone make a knuckle kit for this car yet? My biggest fear is that coming from an S-chassis, I wont get used to the steering of the is300. I really like the way this one looks

Yes, there are a couple companies that do.
GP Sports Super Knuckle Angle Kit Toyota C-ONE Quick Steering Knuckle These ones below are for the JZX chassis, but I'm sure they could/would make some for the IS. Hey Man!
