No battery light on dash, no charging of batt

14.5 volts from the alternator itself off the car
12.1 volts at the battery
12.1 volts off the back of the alt while on car running

so, its a early 95 se, that was an auto. It is now 5 spd, and has a kouki black notch top sr20det, running and driving in the car.

So I'm in the FSM chasing down the white/red wire off the alt. and going to hardwire it into the ignition switch which on the FSM shows to be green.

But I don't have a green wire on my igntion switch. could it wired wrong at the f2 plug?

ANybody ever encounter this?

Im going this route to show the alt that it is in run mode and will start chrging the battery. Hopefully my logic is right.

Ive been driving it around with fully charged batteries in the back for when one shall be discharged. This is the only thing holding me up froma successful swap.

Sounds like the regulator on the alternator is broke. Have you taken it to Advanced Auto or Autozone to have your charging system checked. Its free!

Yes I did. It showed to be in good condition. The alternator was off the car too.

I guess their machine gave the alternator the signal from the ignition to turn it on to charge mode.

Spent some more time on it today, with no luck still.

Thanks for the sugestion though
