1995 240sx Gas Gauge Not Working

Fuel pump fuse kept blowing so I changed the fuel pump. The fuse issue is resolved but now the gas gauge is not working. NOTE: Before changing the fuel pump I noticed that it was not attached to the bracket. I attached the new pump to the bracket. It was working fine before I changed out the pumps which makes me believe that it may not be a bad sending unit and perhaps something that I did or did not do. Please advise.

S14s don't have rods they have a big tube that sits on a bracket in the tank you will have to pull everything out and split the tube and check maybe clean the contacts
