htm doable with a Ka motor?
I just recently went to horse thief mile with a bone stock dual cam ka. I didnt connect the downhill switchback once. I felt like a few times i came close but i dont have an e brake to hold the drift.
Is it even doable or am i just dreaming. Its a pretty looong gap.

clutch kick, clutch kick. hahahha. cmon now, if keichii was able to drift in his underpowered 86. Im sure you can. Just keep practicing and you'll get your lines you want.
intake, header exhaust. clutch and light flywheel and a welded diff would prolli give you a lil more boost.

re clutch kick that shit. lol and i would try to hold the drift as much as possible from the first turn then rip the fuck outta the e brake when you transfer and re clutch kick before you lose to much speed. but thats just what id try. lol

- You drift the top turn as shallow as you can and apex the turn at the VERY END.
- Hold the drift all the way to the left edge of the track and hold that as long as you can. - You'll need to transition as late as you can and get as close to the right edge of the track as you can (dirt dropping can help... SOMETIMES). - Clutch kicking won't really help since you will already be at the end of the power band. - Hold that drift as long as you can until the car is about to straighten out. - At that point just "rip that ebrake" and wait till you get to the bottom. haha. And like David said, all the drifts are going to be super shallow. EDIT: YOU MUST HAVE AN EBRAKE. |

Woah woah waoh.. watch out your language mister..
I bet my 2 quarts of oil !!! Any ways.. I have seen KAs doing HTM.. It's do-able definitely but can't say if you could connect all the turns.. I know Fckillerbee did it in his Zenki with KA in it... he posted video somewhere here.. |

If you have seen videos of people drifting HTM then you would know how nasty uphills and downhills are.. it would take quite skill to drift and connect all coners with underpower vehicles. |

The shallow lines was what i was thinking. More speed and less angle. I guess it doesnt matter cuz imma be turbo in a few days. I think having a super angle kit screwed me over cuz it made me think i could make it i guess.

Exactly what KARL WASABI had stated. I did it a million times with my SOHC KA.
With a KA you MUST have an eBrake. SR and pretty much any other motor you can do it without eBrake. PS PS: I knew Hammy and Wasabi would be here. I like how this thread grabbed all of our attention, haha.

Watch BH.
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=PO4dj...youtu.be&t=42s He slightly straightens out coming out of the first turn but that is the exact line you have to take to make it. A dirt drop might help you extend but I feel that would be cheating a little. And listen to Karl. Everything he said was spot on. |

I also have this one. I like it because it goes longer on the track than that other video.

Great thread. I've seen guys with pretty much stock ka's connect at htm. I'm having the same dilemma myself hahaha. Having a 4dr 3100lb car and with headers, exhaust and intake barely putting 200 at the wheel. I go super shallow full speed and when I transition I end up usually to late and go hard wide into the dirt. THAT or don't get the balls to connect and straighten out real quick.
