As most of you have noticed there's going to be a wave of anime series being made to movies. Along with Speed Racer. Dragon Ball Z will be joining us in a live action slam dunk action movie.

For those of you that are familiar with the entire story. The movie will take place in Dragon Ball (not Dragon Ball Z). Its going to show a very young Goku played by Justin Chatwin (The Invisible)

The villain will be Lord Piccolo which will be played by James Marsters (Smallville, Angel, Buffy The Vampire Slayer)

There will also be more familiar faces like Bulma played by Emmy Rossum

, Master Roshi played by the great Chow Yun Fat

The super hot Jamie Chung

will be playing Chi Chi. Yamcha will be played by Joon Park

. You Heroes fans will recognize Eriko Tamura which will be playing Mai

and of course our man in black Ernie Hudson

better know for his work in Ghostbusters will be playing Mr. Popo.

The movie is already in post production to be released April 8th 2009. Directed by James Wong. He's an open DBZ fan and is also helped write the movie. Not to fear Akira Toriyama has also done a great part in the movie. As most of you might know he has done the majority of story line that has had our Z Warriors in it.

UPDATE 2.7:
Here's a video of Jackson Spidell he will playing Goku for the stunts and most of the fighting scenes.

I've also learned that the movie will be 70 to 80% CG. Just like Iron Man.

I really HOPE it's going to be good. If they make it like the new Speed Racer movie and overdue it then it's going to suck but I want to see super cool fight scenes. Something like House of Flying Dragons or (what's that movie with the guys named Ice and Fire and stuff) I forgot the name of the movie. It would also be great to see part 2 when he fights Freeza and part 3 and 4 when he fights the androids and cell. Damn, I really hope it's good.

Justin Chatwin has signed up for 2 Dragon Ball movies.

There has been casting for Vegeta and Nappa. So just wait and see how the first movie does.

I just don't know who could even play Vegeta. He is like the epitome of an anime bad ass. Plus, his voice would probably be semi-ridiculous in real life lol

James Wong didn't direct Hulk, that was Ang Lee. Ang Lee directed more dramatic fare, like Sense & Sensibility, Brokeback Mountain, and drama/action flick Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon. After checking imdb on Wong, looks like he's done the first and third Final Destination movies, as well as Jet Li's The One.

My brother used to watch DBZ all the time, so I'd watch it with him.
I haven't gotten excited about this movie yet, because I didn't know it was going to be live action (every pic I had seen about the movie to date had been from the anime.)

In any case, I'm disappointed there is no Fajita.
He was the only character worth watching imo.
At least the Bulimia chick with the blue hair will be in it.
