Wanted: Info on Rally 240SX
Hello, I've searched around for a while on google, but I've hit a barrier..... namely the french language. I was wondering (or shooting in the dark) if there is a local who has heard of this car, knows the driver or builder.
I'd like any contact information or info on a Group5 '91 Nissan 240SX that is setup for stage rally in Canada. The car's driver is listed as Martin Walker, and the co-driver's name is Ken Lagarec. It was entered in Rallye Défi Ste-Agathe, Perce Neige, and Tall Pines Rallies in 2007. http://www.motorsport.com/photos/sel...?D=Ken_Lagarec I'd eventually like to build up my rallycross car into a full fledged rally car in the RallyAmerica ruleset, but I've noticed some shortcomings of the platform that I'd love to see how they've addressed them. Thanks in advance! -Matt

Hey, I dont know anything about that rally 240sx, but that thing is awesome, I have seen 2 or 3 240sx's at rally crosses and stuff up in San Diego and they are pretty quick sometimes. I would like to build a rally car one day also but its so much more money than a normal track car would be, 24/7 maintenence haha but goodluck on your quest to find more information to make the 240 a good rally car man that would be nice to see a 240 competing nationally.

haha, rallly 240. Cant have an sr, thats for sure. Even with under body panels designed to protect the oil pan, I still have managed to fuck some up. I live on a dirt road. My car is not that low. Rally would be awesome though. fun as shit driving on dirt fast.

Guess that car's dead now... I suppose I was using the wrong combinations of search words, and eventually found it on NEO240SX.ca http://forums.neo240sx.ca/viewtopic.php?t=8177&start=0 The 240 would make a great rally platform for the same reasons it makes a good road race/autoX/drift platform, its incredibly stable, RWD, and reasonably simple. I love mine in rallycross, but as I mentioned before, there are some shortcomings. The lack of suspension travel has led me to blow 3 sets of OEM shocks (I know, I was a cheap bastard college student) and the fancy multi-link rear that gives it great squat and go is exceptionally easy to bend. jskateborders, That car has an SR. Skidplates are easy. My cheapo (suspiciously sized like a speed limit sign) one took one helluva a rock while marshaling a local stage rally, and saved my oilpan and car. Anyway, I'd love to see more people get into rallycross or rally, and if anyone stumbles across another car, let me know! Have fun out there, -Matt

Rennen, give your head a shake.
The car is far from dead... in fact, its sitting the the shop waiting for the next event. Yes he had a bad wreck at Tall Pines last year, but its been since rebuilt and competing all this year. Contact MRW Motorsports on neo240sx.ca (that would be Martin) the owner and driver of this incredibly fast and capable group 5 machine. Thanks Alex Acting NEO pres.
