SR sr20 w/ka trans?

i know that you can pair the sr20 w/ka trans. i currently have the ka24de and im wanting to go to sr20det, so what is the pros/cons of keeping the ka24de trans. or do you recommend keeping the sr with sr trans.

I believe ka/sr/rb20's trans are all the same internally.

Its the same fucking transmission internally. You just separate the case halves and use the SR20 one because the bolt pattern matches.

Use the bell housing off the SR tranny of course. Difference is the fifth gear ratio which is a hair longer. There are several how to's online on how to do it. Pretty simple job.

Ca-SR-Ka trans are all the same with different bell housings, if your going to use the ka trans with an sr bell housing you should inspect all the gears and every thing internaly, change all gaskets, and use the oem reccomended trans fluid or better, its a pretty simple job should take about 3-6 hours depending on your experince

I have a spare KA trans for my SR. Bolted on an SR bellhousing along with a new input seal and it's done.

Easy.

yeah im really torn between what i wanna do. the person before me that did the dual cam swap really jacked some wiring shit up. so im really leaning towards just becoming another SR bitch, at least then i can make sure all the wiring is good. then maybe slowly build my ka just incase the sr goes.
