"Drifters" Workout?
Well i've noticed that whenever i go out drifting that after about 30+ minutes of hard driving i start to feel physically drained and it really affects my consistency and "rhythm" like it becomes hard to think. I was just wondering if anyone has a specific workout routine that will increase stamina and strength for the high stresses a person goes through when drifting/road racing/autocrossing? i've look into the subject for top level drivers like F1 drivers and they have these insane workout schedules and even use these machines that make your neck muscles stronger to endure the high G's they go through and the only other people that use these machines are US/British jet fighter pilots! I'm not expecting to do something crazy like that but right now i'm doing my workout with free weights, crunches, push ups, you know the general noob workout but i plan on getting a gym membership later this week and using a tried and true motorsports related routine would be nice...

Real drifters don't have workout routines.
They thrive on drugs sex rock and roll and the constant exertion of bangin numerous hot chicks all day every day....when their not drifting of course. But seriously, Ive drifted like once so I have no clue. It may just be that you have an exhaust leak? |

and all this time I thought I was just getting bored!
For some reason I never really feel drained. Then again I granny walk/jog/run at least 3 miles a week on a treadmill and whatever I feel like doing at the gym. Taking a good multi vitamin makes you pretty energetic. |

Drifters workout? hah.
Don't be a fatass and workout like a regular person. I can be at the track all day and don't really get tired till the adrenalin wears off and I need to start packing up. Then there is the long couple hours drive home...

What do you do besides driving?
If it is nothing more then sitting on your ass watching InitialD, or surfing Zilvia, then that is your problem. Be active.

drifting, as with any form of motorsport, should take on a regular work out plan, or stay in shape.... so get in shape start exercising. You will feel better regardless.
30minutes constant drifting you say?

Even though I don't drive all that often.
I would recommend some Endurance training. I usually take a 25-30 min run everyday or do some laps in the pool and that makes me feel a whole lot better in general. |

cardio ftw. and bring decent food/water with you to the track. every time i've been to a track event everyone i see is eating the shittiest food. i always bring stuff from home. bananas, dried fruit, water and gatorade etc. no fast food. and no booze or drugs. seriously i've seen people drinking booze and smoking pot. not just beer, booze. at the track. before going driving. not the wisest choice. sunscreen helps alot too, and a big hat. /rant.

i'm actually very active, i work with kids i have to be, haha nah initial d. is definetly not for me(boring) yeah when i say 30+minutes this means i'm at a spot i found somewhere (typically a loading dock behind some big warehouse or store) and i'm beating the shit out of my car trying to get perfect runs each and everytime because anything less would be a waste of tires, gas, and time and then hauling ass out of their when i feel like i might have some unwanted attention heading my way. Before i get flamed for drifting on the street first let me say i always take into consideration innocent bystanders and never put anybody at risk if i even see a car parked in one of these loading docks i will not drift their because i dont want to risk getting sideways and then smacking some dude with my car while on their way out from work. Also i'm not some kid with a 240 who piles all his friends into his car and says "want to see what drifting is like?!" i'm very serious about this sport and the only reason i resort to street drifting is well because i live in the northeast, have fun finding a drift event not on a oval or even an autocross event that wont give ya a black flag for "sliding too much". And i think you guys are thinking that i'm completely wrecked after drifting, like dragging my arms on the floor tired, which i'm not. I'm more winded like after a short sprint tired but thanks so far for the suggestions coke might be a little pricey for my taste but energy drinks might do the trick oh and about surfing zilvia all the time, zilvia is my bangbros.

days that i get 0-3 hours of sleep, i drive horribly at the track and my runs are inconsistent. getting a good night's rest and staying hydrated at the track will work wonders, imo.
