what years came with aluminum calipers and what years came with iron?
also what years came with 30mm rotors and what years came with 26mm?
there seems to be a caliper split in 92 i think  <img src="#/f/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/eh.gif" border="0" valign="absmiddle" alt=':eh:'>
just wondering if the earlie carscame with aluminum or iron

early ones came with aluminum, and the tt were 30mm.  NA were 26m.  After some year, ('92?) they made them all iron.

From what I remember here's how it breaks down:

1990-1992 Cast Aluminum
1993-1996 Cast Iron

1990 Non-Turbos have 26mm rotors
All others have 30mm

Anyone else know?

So if we buy 300zx breaks go with Cast Iron 30mm?

Or will the Aluminum 30mm work just as well?

There must be a reason for them switching to Cast Iron on the new ones..

aluminum calipers are a lot lighter, but they tend to warp rotors under heavy use (i.e. racing).  if you've got a street car and don't plan on heavy autocrossing and such, aluminum calipers should be fine.  even then, you could always have your rotors treated to avoid warping.

Are the Brembo rotors (that you can get for the 300zx) treated? so they won't warp?
