Updates are pretty slim, but got these parts of a legit guy today. So i'm pretty pumped.
I got new z floor mats, some dash pieces, a new fender and a complete bumper! WOOOO!. Also got my wheels to fit. Intercooler fits very well on the bumper, so i'm stoked about it, Next I need a driverside fender and time for bodywork and paint! on this note, I do have turnsignals too, Just not on me.

So I have some updates, some maybe hate the idea some might love it, It's a love hate thing for me aswell but I think It'll be the better choice for me. I picked up an ls1 from a camaro, I got it so cheap I pretty much used change out of my pocket to pick it up. So I'm talking with xcessive making a ls1 to vg30 trans adapter to mate the ls1 to my 300zx trans, and Going to get a 1 piece driveshaft made, haven't decided on EVERYTHING yet, but I'm going with a rear sump moroso oil pan(if nobody knows rear sump aftermarket pans clear the 300zx crossmember and steering rack), and most likely in the spring i'm going to install an 3qt accusump setup and it should be perfect. To clear things up though, I LOVE the kat setup, but a mixture of me wanting to do this swap to show i can do ls1s is good for my business, it's more reliable in the sense I'm not pushing twice the hp of the motor, and Its going to be completely stock minus the headers and exhaust. Formula D spec cage coming soon, complete tear down, 5 bolt rear welded in the works, pbm subframe risers are here just haven't installed them, among other things. This is a done deal the ka is sold and hopefully the swap parts are going to a forum member who really wants to do the swap! Also bought off my buddy a corbeau fia approved seat and a new camlock 5 point.

I got intake manifold gaskets for it and I just got my flywheel in for it, so sending it off with my z flywheel to get all the work done to it tomorrow. Sat i'm pulling my ka-t and saying my good bys, and then picking up my new wheels. then ordering a bunch of different stuff for it and getting everything moving along

i was on board with the ka-t swap, but im totally on board with the ls1 swap. good luck with it and please keep us posted. have you ever been on youtube and seen the "godspeed z32" that has a vh motor in it? your swap should sound as nice or better and should be lighter as well.

Today was eventful, I drove my car in the garage around 1130.
By 215 it looked like this: From there cleaned up, and headed out for the road trip to Columbus. once there, I picked up and some wheels, but felt that was more important. Then, realized my ka-t had so much torque it cracked my lower support in half. lawls Yeah, I like to take pictures a lot. rears 225/40/18s fronts 235/40/18s i'm going to eventually get 225/40s for the front because these ones look like he drove on them with the tires backwards.

Haven't updated this in a bit. So i figured I would.
Scraped the ls1 setup because of machine shop delays. Still not in the mood for a turbo setup. Purchased a VH45. Also got rid of my 50mm front wheel spacers for a set of 15mm pbm ones (I haven't installed them just yet)

Doing an initial tear down of the motor, it's in great shape for not running for 3 years, no sludge build up, it has the updated timing guides, new chains, new water pump and thermostat, among other stuff. It had a rats nest under the intake manifold, so i'm tearing that all down to clean it all up and reseal all the gaskets and new hoses, most of it was dry rotted. I'm also sending the intake and front covers off to get media blasted so they look clean and new.

im assuming this is similar to if you had an s14/13 and were doing this swap. are there mount kits available? are you making your own? are you going to have a manual setup or auto? isn't the cost of this going to be similar to the cost of the ls1?
