i bought my 95 mtx last week. the gas gauge was working when i bought it. it got down around 'E' last weekend, so i filled it up. i've driven it 84 miles since then, and it hasn't moved from 'E'. what's up here??? is my gauge messed up? is this a normal problem with 240s? how can i fix it???

hmmm....i would...ummm....i don't know...from my experience...my gas gauge would not go down for quite a while, whenever it does this, and i hate to say this, i give it a good thump on top of the cluster...and it will drop down to what i am assuming is the correct place...sorry i don't have a technical fix for you...peas..

Mine usually takes about 75 miles to move below F. Did you fill it up and completely top it off so you couldn't get any more gas in it? That's what I do.

I thought it was only my 95 that did that. It doesn't drop steady either. It will drop a ton and then sit there for another 50 miles and then drop again. oh well.

hmmm...maybe it's just 240's in general...if you have had your car long enough, you should know when you need a refueling...with my car i just refuel it when it reaches 300miles...even if it reads half full or even before empty...
