Some Sr20 upgrade questions

i tried searching, but i fail at that.. im new to the 240 and sr motor.. but what would be a good turbo/ fuel injector size to get to reach 350whp on stock internals? and it be safe for a dd? i have full exhaust, front mount and intake.. and i already ordered a walbro 255 fuel pump..

thanks for the input!

Cancel the order and get Denso instead. You should try to get one of those fuel pumps which are used in TT MKIV supra or TT Z32. 550cc should be good enough.

Walbro is fine, thats what most people run.

For 350whp your best setup is gonna be a z32 maf, 750cc injectors, and a gt2871r .64a/r

A GT28RS should do the job too.

And a GT28R (stock S15 turbo) should get you near 320whp.

Dont skimp on the tune.

GT30 requires a top mount setup, will spool WAAAAY later than a t2 turbo, and will be making the same peak hp. Youd be spending two to three times as much for the same peak power, and a less useable powerband. Unless youre looking for 425+whp, theres no need for a top mount.

But hey, whatup local. Im from doylestown.

Lol, im from doylestown but I actually live in warrington. Funny. You on tst?

The 30r and GT28r are two completely different animals. The 30r will give you an ALL TOP end motor that pulls incredibly hard once it spools, but will take a while to do so. (as far as what rpm, i dont know). The S15 turbo will be fully spooled by 3000rpm, will have great midrange and still pack a punch up top. For 280-320whp, the s15 turbo is perfect. Its what I have at the moment (but am looking to trade it plus cash for a 2871r). The 2871r is a bolt on 400whp capable turbo. You really cant beat that when it comes to comparing cost, spool time, and peak horsepower.

If you want a dyno queen or a fast highway car, go with the 30. I prefer to have my power where its useable, and dont need ridiculous high hp. A broad torque curve is more important to me.

yeah ive been told many things but even stock turbo is fun. just spools really low. i want a really usable street car cause its my dd. 350-360 whp is my goal. that is fast enough for around here. hell even 200 whp gets me in trouble at the moment. n yeah solowda16 is my name on tst.

Please don't talk about things you know nothing about.

OP, get an S15 turbo. Then do some more research. Google is your friend, these topics have been covered a bazillion times.

actually i have a gt3076r that you can use with your stock sr20 manifold and fits perfect and the compressor housing is smaller to help out the spool time. Comparing the maps of my turbo between the gt2871r my turbo only spools about 300 rpm later plus my gt30 is internally wasgated for that factory look. So check out my f/s thread its all on there and pics of it mounted on a stock sr manifold..
