Grind shifting gears after New Clutch

So recently I pulled a Spec clutch out of my car (from previous owner) because it was slipping bad. The car shifted normally, it just would slip super easy in higher gears.

Anyway, I bought one of the ebay Exedy OE style clutches for the car. I took out the flywheel and had it resurfaced (lightweight, not sure the brand) and installed both back in the car. Everything went smooth on the install.

One thing I noticed though is that the Exedy clutch/pressure plate was slightly shorter than the Spec clutch and plate when stacked side by side.

Right now I'm having the issue that if I try to shift quickly (pedal fully depressed even), It grinds going into gear, 2nd gear especially bad. It does this sometimes if I'm in first gear and I put my foot on the clutch and don't even shift or put it into neutral or anything.

I adjusted the clutch pedal because I thought that would help, but its backed all the way out and nothing has changed. I bled the system as well, but that didn't help at all.

Any ideas what is going on here? kind of frustrating

Thanks

Well something I forgot to add - If i shift slowly there is no problem. I can drive around town find granny shifting or whatever its called.

As for gear oil, 75-90w maybe? I can't remember. It was the factory suggested weight, something synthetic

75-90 can be either gl4 or gl5, the reason he asks, is becasue gl5 is bad for your transmission, something about it eats the coating on the synchros-dont quote me cause im not 100% sure.

huh well I hope not. I have no idea though which one it is. I just bought whatever was recommended.

The transmission was shifting fine before the clutch replacement, I hope its not internal

GL5 oils contain a additive for high pressure (sulfur), sulfur happens to eat away at brass (synchronizers).
