Fact n°1:
I already computed the inertia impact on accel /decel time in a previous post, and it is ridiculous with the engines we use. No human being would sense a 30µs change. The only way to feel it is to drive a low torque / low power car, with a huuuuge change in weight. This may have applied 40 years ago. Not now.

Now this is not the only effect in action and the gyroscopic effect could have an impact on the front wheels, but then again i have power steering on my car so i totally dont care.

Fact n°2:
I went from 215 width tyres, 40lbs wheel+ tyre combo to 235 width, 24lbs wheel + tyre combo.

No real differences, except i now lock and spin the wheels easier. tyres are better too, and i dont have a stupid alignment that makes only half of the tyre touch the road. Fact is, i could bury the gas pedal without worrying too much before. Now, even with a torsen, i cant. It may be a bit better, but it is also a lot more difficult. Maybe a pro driver can cope with that easily, but what i say is most people dont or dont want to. I have no race to win, i drive to have fun, and while i like shaving seconds off my times, i have no need for that. If going always faster means ruining my fun, then i dont try to go faster. Which is exactly why i dont want to be a pro driver.

So yes, based on MY experience, there is no SENSIBLE gain for most people (maybe if i put it in caps and bold you will be able to see it this time ? ). People who really can gain about that usually dont post on forums.
You are entytled to your opinion like I am entytled to mine

You keep mentioning that lighter wheels spin to easily and lock up to easily I underrstand your theory (does not make mine or yours right) but where I am from having a car that you can't pedal properly without spinning or locking up is called poor driving not hey it happend because my wheels are to light

Back to the origonal question what is to heavy for a sohc ka
In MY opinoin you need all the help you can get because they don't make much power. I recommend getting the lightest wheels your budget can afford and/or save up and make more power then wory about wheels

Fact (again) is you got no opinion on that, you just repeat what you heard from "pro drivers" .

Wrong. Not theory, fact.

yeah i got read you "pro driver".

Where i live that is called having power at the wheels, no ABS nor traction control, and most importantly having fun.

You miss the point again, so i will write it one last time.

With heavy wheels: pedal to the metal, no spinning wheels.
With 16lbs lighter wheel + tyre combo, pedal to the metal, spinning wheels.

That is not a question of driving poorly, that is a question of reproducting the exact same protocol to get a valid comparison, which is exactly what testing is about

Driving with lighter wheels REQUIRES to be better at controlling the car when you got some horsepower. And most posters here dont care, myself included. Sure, i'd prefer to be able to be a human ABS and traction control unit by myself, without even thinking about it.
But i am not. I was not born on a track. I do no compete. I dont WANT to compete either. I just want to have fun driving my car, and that includes spinning tyres and feeling the back end breaking loose when i apply full throttle.

Like most people here.

This is zilvia, not NRR.

I don't know any pro drivers and I do not watch much racing all of my knowledge is experience based

and you also made a coment trying to imply you have a high powerd car and I don't know what that is like the truth is I have the fastest s chassis InThe little shit hole town I live In so I know about having more power than the friction between the tire and road can handle

Bottom line op has a sohc car and needs all the help the under powerd car can get so regardless of your theorys lighter is better in his case

Buy Enkei PRF1s and call it a day. One of the world's lightest wheels, durable and not expensive. Then buy good tires for them. The tire selection can have a very significant impression on handling performance even for the novice driver, but as indicated above you probably wouldn't notice the difference if you bought lightweight wheels.

That is one way to say it, yes.

The other would just be to say you are a brainless prick that cant understand what a test protocol is. Your choice though, not like i care about an internet kiddo
