what's the deal with RB's

Is this just the "new thing" people are doing to be different, or is the SR not a reliable motor? I'm in the beginning stages of a transplant and would appreciate any ones input on their SR/RB swaps, and why would I want to go RB, other than the awesome sound of a straight 6... maybe I'll go RB anyway????

Thanks
ED

How about you research each motor and figure out which one would be best for you.

You're always gonna run into some kinda problems when you're dealing with motorswaps. Both SR's and RB's are reliable when maintained well by the individual. Everyone has their own reasons why they chose RB's over SR's and vice versa. There's a lot of pros and cons to each which have been covered hella times in these and other forums. Just do a little search and you'll easily find the reasons. Reliability is usually never one of the main reasons for choosing one over the other because both motors are pretty reliable.

rbs = lots of modifications, more money on the motor, however its a straight 6

sr= minor mods, not that much, nearly as much power as an rb20det, straight 4

-=-=-=-=-

rb= good project car or possibly daily drivor, expensive on gas

sr= good for budget/daily drive
