The A/T speed sensor will not fit into the M/T, its larger in diameter.

buuuut

you can grind it down wiht a dremel and it will fit in there then. You just have to be careful and make sure you trim evenly all the way around.

I have done this and it for sure works.

It's the same transmission, so it would be the same fitment. However, the auto VSS is larger, so you've either been installing manual units or pregrinded autos.

sr and ka vss are the same, I'm using a SR one on a KA right now.

S13 and S14 vss are different, however they will fit, but wont read correctly.

Right. S13 is aluminum case with a long lead, S14 is plastic case without a lead.

Reading kmh vs mph is all in the cluster not the vss in the case of the sr20de(t) and ka24de clusters.

Why would it read in km/h if the cluster is in MPH?

There is NO difference between VSS units in other markets. Auto or manual, S13 or S14, that's it. Four sensors total for every application in every World market.

Yes, the SR20DET VSS from the SR20DET transmission from Japan will read correctly in MPH on a USDM S14 cluster when it is installed on a USDM KA24DE transmission. I hope that clears up any confusion. Same goes for manual S13 VSS.
