S14 Front and Rear Suspension Conversion Question
Hey guys,
I was just wondering if anyone ever converted their entire suspension on their s13 to a s14. When i say everything I mean: Shocks, Hubs, Spindles...and so on... Does everything bolt up? Any special modifications needed? Last edited by nismo240sxjdm; 12-15-2008 at 08:24 PM.. Reason: forgot some stuff |

Why? They're the same parts. You don't gain a thing except for 5lug capability, which is also gained by aftermarket parts. The front LCA is 15mm longer for more camber, that's it. Only thing that can't swap over is the rear shock, it's six inches longer.
You should really do some research. Tons. You're basically asking if you can swap a 16x6.5" wheel for another 16x6.5" wheel, but with -1 lower offset.

Rear Aarms have wider staunches on the S14 to fit the subframe. Rear shocks are six inches longer on S14, upper mount stud points are wider. Rear camber arm is half moon on S14, full hoop on S13. Either one fit either chassis. Rear upright for S14 has a threaded insert and bolt for the shock mount, S13 is a stud with a nut. Either one works on either chassis. All other rear parts are the same. Front struts have a 14mm hole to the spindle on S14s vs. S13. Front spindle has a slightly larger taper on S14, requires matching hub. Front LCA is 15mm longer. Tension rod in one inch longer. None of this matters, the S13 parts work just the same, look the same, are no weaker or less reinforced. Aftermarket hubs can be used eliminating the need for S14 spindles/hubs. The only reason to use S14 parts would be to fit S14 OE hubs, add camber with the LCAs, or delete the full hoop rear camber arm to make removing the shock easier. No point in any of that since there are other options. If you haven't found any of this before, close your browser window. You have no business using the internet.

Thankyou for the information, I apologize for just entering the S scene, and I don't know everything right off the bat. The only way to learn about something is to ask questions, or figure it out on my own. I don't own an s14, and im not going to autozone to compare every single part, so i figured I would search for awhile, and if I didnt find any useful information I would open a thread and ask my question, and thats what I did. Obviously you have a some amount of knowledge associated with the s-chassis, or could it be that you do alot of internet browsing. I do my fair amount, but I also have a life away from my computer, maybe you should try closing your browser window and do something else for a change.

I've owned and worked on Schassis cars for over 14 years, hence my knowledge. I was answering questions before the internet existed and will continue to now that it does. But I appreciate your concern, really.
