How To: recirc a Blitz BOV (w/pics)
OK, for those of you who have a Blitz BOV with the SMIC piping and are tired of driveability issues, I have the fix. Here are the parts you need:
Blitz steel IC pipe flange (phase2...$20 + shipping) 2 longer screws (M5 x 12mm) 2 flat washers (M5) 2 lock washers (M5) one rubber hose (model 617 from Autozone, if that helps) 2 gear clamps Start off by taking the horn off and replacing it with the flange...it fits perfectly. By the way, if you need to reposition your BOV, do it so it looks just like this. Here is the first pic:

This next pic shows the two places you are connecting...from the outlet of the BOV to the stock recirculating inlet on the intake pipe. Obviously, this trick needs the stock piping.

This is a dumb pic, but it shows the shape of the hose and the part number from Autozone. This one fit perfectly after I trimmed 1/2" off the bottom end.

this is the final product. if yours looks like this, you should be good. now, loosen up the screw on the top of the BOV and drive! it won't chatter now, and it's pretty quiet...but it works. i was tired of the ghetto way i had it before (ch-ch-ch-ch-ch-ch-chuuuuuh)

this one needs to be archived!
very useful for people who dont want to deal with that leaky-idle-ooh-im-gonna-stall-on-you ****.
BTW, I was looking for the hose using the part bumber you gave (617) but no luck -- do you have the measurements of the hose? I will just go to Kragen and try to get a similar one... Autozone is too far from my house anyways. word. |
