i have had the typical brake light problem, my guess is the wires touched and fried the switch. i replaced the switch and noticed the wires have been tempered with before..... so know what should i do?

does it flicker on and off during sharp turns because mine does

Replace the wires and switch

The circuit shorted to ground. Check the lights themselves, including the bulbs.
